Hope Balakrishna realizes this
Balakrishna's previous films didn't have any pre release buzz and most of his recent movies failed to do good business too. Everyone has written off the superstar, who once delivered back to back industry hits with Samara Simha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu. Despite having a loyal fan base Balakrishna's films suffered bad openings in the recent times.
Same is not the case with his upcoming film Legend directed by Boyapati Srinu. This film is riding on high expectations. Legend is getting extraordinary offers from all the areas and buyers are shelling out big bucks to get the distribution rights of this film. Why did Balakrishna's films post Simha didn't generate such hype?
It was Balakrishna's blunder to do films with outdated veteran directors and flop directors. Those films didn't look like scoring success at any point of time. Hence fans and trade didn't show interest in those films. As a result Balakrishna had to suffer a streak of disasters. With star director like Boyapati Srinu at work, Balakrishna's Legend proves that the star is still hot in trade. Hope Balakrishna realizes this and continues to work with in form directors or contemporary hot shot filmmakers.
Ram to put a Full Stop to Flops
After scoring a good hit with Kandireega, Ram failed to keep up the momentum by doing few more successful films. Ram took a brief break before signing up Kandireega as he was struggling with a series of flops. He failed to capitalize on Kandireega's success and chose two bad scripts that have let him down.
His belief in Karunakaran, who was on a roll at that time, didn't yield desired result and Endukante Premanta bombed big time at the box office. Later Ram trusted Bhaskar to pull off a mass film called Ongole Gitta, but that ended up as one of the biggest disasters of the year. These flops have put Ram on the back foot and he is in dire need of a hit now.
With so many heroes in business and most of them striking a chord with the audience, a hero of Ram's stature can't afford to have another failure at this point. Hence, Ram is pinning lot of hopes on Masala in which he teamed up with Venkatesh. Comedy films are doing well these days and Masala has lots of it. Ram has good comedy timing and also has loyal fan base in the youth and families. All he needs is a film with decent content and enjoyable comedy. Ram believes that Masala can be THE movie to end his miseries.
