Rajamouli, Please Don't use your Popularity for Your Friends and Associates

'Obligation', this one word has ruined the reputation of many bigwigs in film industry. Often, celebs reluctantly do certain things out of obligation and end up on the losing side. Ace director Rajamouli's fans are worried that the 'Baahubali' creator is now treading this dangerous path.
Rajamouli's association with Sai Korrapati of Vaarahi banner is nothing new to Telugu film industry folks and movie buffs. In fact, Vaarahi's fist production venture, 'Eega' was a Rajamouli directorial. Ever since, the top director, who is now a national celebrity, has been promoting the production ventures of Korrapati, out of courtesy or friendship or may be obligation.

Having a cumulative follower count of close to 8.5 million (on FB and Twitter) and arguably being the biggest director of India who has never made a flop in his career, people believe in Rajamouli's judgement. If he praises a film by attending promotional events or even through his tweets, at least some of his followers go to theatres to watch it irrespective of how unpopular the cast and crew is.

Recently, Rajamouli praised Jagapathi Babu's new release, 'Patel Sir', a Sai Korrapati production venture, on twitter. Understandably, many of his followers watched the film and later they took to social media to request him not to use his stardom and credibility for promoting bad films just out of compulsion. Rajamouli may consider it as just a tweet to say something good about a film but it is a sort of review, a confidence for his followers to watch the film.

In the end, fans request Rajamouli to use his popularity to promote good cinema but not whatever the film made by his friends and associates.

How Baahubali Boosted Magadheera?

Just like 'Baahubali', ace director Rajamouli had carved a masterpiece called 'Magadheera', a decade ago, which wiped out almost all the existing records. Now, the Ram Charan starrer has added another feather to its highly decorated cap.

The Hindi dubbed version of Magadheera has become the first Hindi dubbed South Indian film to cross 100 million views on Youtube. The new milestone scaled by Magadheera can be attributed largely to Rajamouli and his latest visual wonder, Baahubali.

Post the worldwide success of Baahubali, North Indian movie lovers have started searching for Rajamouli's previous movies, and hence the surge in Magadheera's Youtube views. Besides Baahubali, recently released Hindi film, 'Raabta' has also helped Magadheera partly. Since Raabta has been widely publicized as the unauthorized remake of 'Magadheera', North people showed interest in watching the original film.

All in all, a Telugu film - Magadheera scaling this phenomenal record on Youtube is truly a proud moment for Telugu film lovers. Post Baahubali, film lovers across the nation are looking at Tollwood with awe and respect.

Raja Mouli Launched Invalid Movie Ticket!

Last night, director giant Rajamouli has stunned everyone with his gracious presence at "Ninnu Kori" pre-release event. For the love he has for hero Nani, the Baahubalian director graced the occasion as a chief guest.

Unlike launching an audio CD, the makers used their creativity to launch the First Day first show ticket for the movie. As you could notice in the picture, Rajamouli launched the larger-than-life size ticket of 8:45 AM show for Prasad's Imax, Hyderabad. There maybe lots of creativity but this ticket is for sure invalid. Wonder why?

Nani and co have politely forgotten the GST thing and the ticket prices are going to be hiked to Rs 200 by the time Ninnu Kori hits cinemas. Now you could notice that the ticket launched by Rajamouli costs only 150 rupees, which is why cinema lovers are joking that it is invalid.

"Rich production values, Nani's confidence that he could make us laugh with a joke and make us cry with an emotion are the assets of Ninnu Kori trailer. Though I didn't find anything new in the trailer, it is somehow intriguing. I wish producer Danayya and distributors get huge profits" said Rajamouli, on this occasion.

Strategy Behind Baahubali's Huge Collections

Magnum opus Baahubali : The Conclusion's storming Box Office collections raised many eyeballs. Even the trade pundits are shocked with the phenomenon called Baahubali and SS Rajamouli. As the film continue to set the Box Office ablaze, take a look at the reasons for its huge openings and blockbuster collections.

Increase in the ticket prices in AP and in some parts of the United States contributed a lot to the openings of the film and set unbelievable, untouchable Day1 records for any other regional film. If this is not enough, increase in shows in AP (six shows per day in single-screen theatres) and five shows per day in single-screen theatres in Telangana have had its share in the record openings. (AP and Telangana state governments permitted for extra shows considering Baahubali as Telugu pride.)

Turning towards multiplexes, they have screened as many as 20 to 25 screens per day. Though the ticket prices in multiplexes were sold at higher rates than the normal rates in a few areas, it actually go into the pockets of exhibitors and hence it could be ignored. But by screening the film in 'n' number of screens per day, certainly this is biggest ever release for an Indian film and this catapulted Baahubali : The Conclusion to the top rank.

One major factor is the absence of other big-budgeted and star-studded films. There are no other releases in Hindi or Telugu or Tamil or Kannada or Malayalam. Thanks to Karan Johar, a dubbed film got its huge release on par with a straight film and perfect planning, timing of release is important factor for Baahubali's earth-shattering collections.

Marketing. This is best marketed film in the recent times. Stars, filmmakers cutting across the regions are unanimously agreeing to the fact that the film has been well-marketed and it is one of the reasons for its huge hype that resulted in massive openings all over. Social-media played pivotal role in the film's huge success. SS Rajamouli is easily one of the masterminds behind this.

Besides all, the film's extensive VFX, grandeur, its huge scale, visual spectacle, story, setting, cast, powerful performances, Rajamouli's vision, Keeravani's background score, rich production values have all helped the film to sustain the hype, expectations.

And not to forget is the role of media. Reviews certainly helped in Hindi, overseas and other markets. Also it helped to spread the positive word-of-mouth all over. All these reasons made Baahubali what it is today in people's perception as well as its No.1 position at the Box Office.

Baahubali's Mind Blowing Opening in Sandalwood!

It would be an understatement if we say that Baahubali 2 created absolute mayhem at box office on its opening day. The SS Rajamouli directorial has performed beyond expectations in all the territories but the film's performance in Karnataka has evoked ripples in the local Kannada film industry.

With its all four versions, Baahubali 2 has reportedly minted close to Rs 20 crore on its opening day. The figure would look monumental when we tell you that the Prabhas starrer overtook the top Kannada opening film by three times collections. Puneeth Rajkumar's 'Raajakumara' was the earlier biggest opener here with about Rs 7 crore gross. Hence the rousing welcome for Baahubali 2 obviously scared the Kannada industry stars.

Released in around 400 screens in Karnataka, the movie received never-before-seen response from audiences resulting in earth shattering collections. Major revenue reportedly came from the Telugu-dominant regions of the state. Besides releasing the movie in multiple languages, the exorbitant ticket rates also helped the movie inscribe this historical record in the state.

Gunasekhar praised, But Baahubali fans got Angry?

Actually, director Gunasekhar has sent an open note to Baahubali team appreciating their efforts. And in his note, he mentioned that Rajamouli has mesmerised with his directorial brilliance by breathing life into a simple story. And that's what hurt Baahubali fans now.

"How on earth Gunasekhar can call this one as a simple story while Rajamouli worked for years on it and presented as a brilliant story?" asks fans of Baahubali franchisee. Taking to social media, many fans have started blasting the director. However one should remember the fact that the same Gunasekhar has sent a personally written letter to MM Keeravani for his outstanding background score. On the flip side, some cinema lovers didn't like the composer's work.
Though Guna wrote it simply, what he has written is right in its own way. Because Baahubali movie, both 1 and 2, have stick to basic story writing guidelines and took some inspiration from legendary Mahabharata. But the secret ingredient that made the difference is Rajamouli's visualisation, screenplay and presentation. So, Gunasekhar is right only.

Currently, people are in different minds about the movie, but no matter how reviews and opinions have turned out, they are watching the film in theatres.

Monstrous Opening for Baahubali-2

As expected, Baahubali 2 has taken earth shattering opening across the world. Irrespective of the region, the SS Rajamouli directorial has generated tremendous revenues. The total net collections from India are expected to be around Rs 125 crore, a historic feat.

Baahubali 2 has reportedly generated a revenue of approx. 38 crore from the Hindi version alone. It is the biggest non-holiday opener which surpassed the films of even Bollywood Khans. Not even Dangal and Sultan could take such historic opening.

Coming to the Telugu version, the collections are unbelievable. As per early estimates, Baahubali 2 raked in 55 crore from the Telugu states, which amounts to a share of Rs 43 crore approx. Overtaking the previous best, around Rs 23 crore of Khaidi No.150 by a phenomenal Rs 20 crore margin is a monstrous feat.

As per trade reports, Baahubali 2 collected 12 crore from Karnataka, 9 from Kerala and 11 crore form Tamil Nadu. With this, the monstrous film has taken a monstrous opening of Rs 125 crore approx. in India.

Coming to the overseas, Baahubali 2 has raked in USD2.5M from premieres and USD2.2M on Friday alone. Collections from several theatres are yet to be compiled. Historic, Phenomenal etc. are very tiny words to describe this opening.

Review : Baahubali 2 -Conclusion : Salute to Rajamouli

Release date : April 28, 2017
Director : S. S. Rajamouli
Producer : Shobu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni
Music Director : M. M. Keeravani

Cast : Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah
Off late, where ever you go, there is only topic and that is how Baahubali 2 is going to be. Directed by the genius Rajamouli, the magnum opus has released in over 8000 screens all over today. Let’s see whether the film reaches our expectations or not.

Story:-
As shown in the first part, Baahubali(Prabhas)is declared as the king of Mahishmati. As part of the kingdom’s ancestral ritual, the would-be king needs to visit the countryside to know what problems the people in his kingdom are facing. In this process, Baahubali visits a small kingdom called Kuntala and falls in love with its princess Devasena (Anushka).

He woos Devasena with his charm and brings her to Mahishmati. But to his shock, Baahubali’s mother, Shivagami(Ramya Krishna) changes her decision suddenly and announces Bhallaladeva(Rana) as the king. Why did Shivagami suddenly announce Bhallaladeva as the king? What is the back story behind her decision? and why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? To know answers to these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-
There are way too many things that impress you in Baahubali 2 but it is practically impossible to pen all of them down in this review. Let me start by talking about the gigantic scale of the film. It is like a never before and never again kind of scenario as Baahubali 2 is huge in every aspect. Every visual of the film is filled with surprises either in terms of graphics or the extravagant sets that have been put up. The costumes, drama showcased and performances are a first of its kind in Telugu films.

Credit should go to Rajamouli for taking Indian films to another level with his mind blowing story telling. The way he has induced a terrific conflict between the two brothers is the major asset of the film. Prabhas unleashes his beastly side in the second part and takes away your senses with his striking performance. From the first scene, his screen presence is top notch and the way he takes Bhallaladeva head on is just terrific.

A lot was said about Anushka’s weight but boy she looks top class in this film. Right from her traditional costumes to her mature look, she has pulled off both the roles with ease. She looks slim and quite beautiful throughout the film. Coming to Rana, it would not be exaggerating to say that Rana will never get such a magnanimous role in the future. What makes the film even more fiery and ghastly is his fabulous villainous avatar. No other actor apart from him could have played this role of a lifetime and Rana has done full justice to it.

Nassar and Satyaraj are excellent in their roles and especially Nasser, is the major highlight among the supporting cast. Ramya Krishna showcases superb emotions and brings a lot of depth to the film. The family emotions are yet another highlight of the film as they elevate the proceedings with a lot of depth. The fist fight between Rana and Prabhas is a feast to the eye.

Minus Points:-
A number of audiences might get disappointed with the way Rajamouli has answered why Katappa killed Baahubali. Even though, the twist gels well with the script, it might not meet the expectations of many. Once the twist is revealed, the film becomes a bit predictable. The climax looks a bit rushed upon as things happen way too quickly.

Tamanna is hardly seen in the film and only appears during the climax. There are certain areas in the film where pace gets slow and some unforced drama overtakes the proceedings. The romance between Prabhas and Anushka could have been edited out a bit to make things better.

Technical Aspects:-
Baahubali 2 is one of the most technically efficient films made in India. If part one surprised you with its scale, then second part will leave you speechless with excellent visual effects and emotions. The kingdoms shown and sets created look top notch on screen. The entire team of Makuta should be appreciated for taking the film to another level with their VFX work.

What takes Baahubali to its peak is the stunning background score of M M Keeravani. Even though his songs are not that effective as the first part, the way he elevates the proceedings with his score is impressive. Dialogues are decent and so were the lyrics. Costumes done for every character looks top class. The weaponry created and props used look quite lethal.
Coming to the director Rajamouli, he has surely done India and the film fraternity proud with Baahubali. He has dreamt of something out of the box and has also succeeded in bringing life to India’s biggest motion picture. The way he has continued the story in the second part and made the drama even more intense is superb. There is more depth in the proceedings and every character has been given complete justification.

Every frame of Baahubali is his creation and you can’t but salute to the genius of this filmmaker who will be the next big thing in Indian cinema. At times, you just wonder how did he perceive all this in his mind and execute it in such a convincing manner. Technicians like him are rare and Telugu folks should be proud that our own director has gone ahead and proved that nothing is impossible.
.
Conclusion:-
On the whole, Baahubali 2 is one film which leaves you speechless. Right from the word go, it has intense drama and action as every frame in the film is a visual wonder. Be it the heroic fights or the lavish war scenes, Rajamouli showcases some never before scenes in Indian film history. This film will be remembered and spoken about for years to come and break every possible record in the country. The performances, drama and the lavish scale look jaw dropping and make this film a never before experience for every movie lover. Finally, just ignore the simple story line and do yourself a favor by taking your entire family to watch this magnum opus called Baahubali as wonders like these only happen very rarely.

Baahubali2 breaks record set by Dangal

SS Rajamouli's just released magnum opus "Baahubali: The Conclusion" has been shattering records.

After overtaking the advance booking record of Hollywood blockbuster Fast & Furious 8 in UAE, Baahubali 2 has now smashed the pre-booking record previously held by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's Dangal.

In a statement, BookMyShow, one of the prime online ticket booking platforms, said that it has been experiencing an unprecedented advance booking for Baahubali 2 and that over 1 million tickets were sold in just 24 hours, besting the earlier record holder Dangal.

The euphoric response from South Indian audiences was expected but this unprecedented advance booking is majorly because of the crazy Baahubali fans of North India. Even though the ticket prices are alarmingly raised to cash in on the craze, people are not restraining themselves from splurging money to find out 'Why Kattappa Killed Baahubali' as fast as they can.

Baahubali 2 far higher than Fast and Furious 8!

'Baahubali: The Conclusion', which is being seen and called by trade pundits of the country as the game changing Indian film, is breaking records of not just Indian movies but also of Hollywood.

The craze of Baahubali can be understood by learning that even Fast & Furious 8, the latest installment in the action packed series, which recently opened to phenomenal advance bookings and opening collections, couldn't sustain the onslaught of this Indian epic.

The official distributor of Baahubali 2 in UAE has revealed that more than 1,00,000 tickets were sold for the film which was higher than of what Fast And Furious 8 could pull off in that territory. Fast & Furious series has fans all over the world and Baahubali 2 breaking the record of this Hollywood biggie is a testimonial enough for to scale Indian cinema has reached.

Karan Johar: Bahubali's magic beats Mughal-e-Azam's

Hotshot Bollywood filmmaker and Baahubali’s Hindi version’s distributor Karan Johar had some pleasantly surprising words of appreciation for the country’s biggest movie franchise during his participation at the grand pre-release event last night.
“Baahubali’, 67 years later, has beaten the magic created by ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ on screen. Rajamouli’s cinema has soul, his personality has gumption and I don’t think I even have ten percent of it,” an exhilarated Karan said.
The shrewd entertainer further said that Baahubali is a result of immense hard-work and dedication, something which he will go back to Mumbai and teach his Bollywood counterparts about.

Perfect Pre-release business for Baahubali

Ace director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning had smashed all box office records is still the highest south Indian grosser. Tollywood analysts have introduced a new term 'Non-Baahubali records', as it is highly impossible for any film to reach the heights of the Prabhas and Rana starrer film.

Perhaps to take part in the Baahubali series or to take advantage of first part, distributors are spending mammoth prices to obtain distribution rights.

Freshly, Om Manikanta films has acquired Baahubali: The Conclusion East Godavari rights by shelling out ever best price for the area of Rs 9.6 crore as an outright deal, which means the distributor can't claim for reimbursement from producers if he incur losses.

Seems like, Baahubali 2 pre-release business will easily cross the full run shares of the beginning part. So, producers will pocket massive profits prior to the film's release.

Rajamouli never disappointed producers, buyers and audiences hitherto. But, pressure will be high on him as expectations are sky high on Baahubali 2. Hope, he will not disappoint this time too!

Tamil Nadu is jealous with this honor bestowed upon a Telugu star? and Demanding?

Local star Prabhas has become nationwide popular post the groundbreaking success of 'Baahubali'. Besides garnering national and international honors, the VFX extravaganza was also a runaway hit at the box office.

The latest feather in Prabhas's well decorated cap is the honor of Madame Tussauds. The world famous wax museum has come forward to install the wax statue of Prabhas in its Bangkok branch, which hosts the wax statues of only two other Indians, Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It seems that media of Tamil Nadu is jealous with this honor bestowed upon a Telugu star.

A leading Tamil daily has recently published a demeaning article on Prabhas's honor. It printed the opinion of Tamil celebrities. 'If Prabhas could get a wax statue, why not the same honor was bestowed upon relatively much bigger Tamil cinema legends Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan,' said the jealous media house. A few Tamil celebs allegedly recommended for the installation of wax statues of yesteryear Tamil cinema legends MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan too.

Honor as To be Gained, but not to Demand, What say Readers?

'Instead of feeling proud as a South Indian actor has achieved this rare honor, Tamil media is resorting to these embarrassing acts,' Telugu movie lovers rue. Will the Telugu film fraternity respond at least now?

Rajamouli told him to lock it

Sumanth’s Naruda Donaruda’s first look and title logo got a tremendous response. It generated immense curiosity, as most of our audience were aware of only blood and organ donation.
But sperm donation, as revealed in the first look, created quite a stir. In order not to sound too overt, the makers wondered long and hard to arrive at an appropriate title.
Finally, it was none other than Sumanth who coined the DONORuda word after randomly while taking a shower. The famous Balakrishna song Naruda O Naruda was also of help. He added the D in front of O Naruda, thus arriving at DONORuda.
Immediately, Sumanth started discussing this idea with friends and well-wishers. When he randomly shared this title with SS Rajamouli and MM Keeravani at a film function, both of them along with their families were in splits of laughter. Rajamouli told him to lock it and look no further.

Break For Baahubali Shooting, Loss May Be in Crores?

The incessant rains in and around Hyderabad for the past three days have spoiled the plans of SS Rajamouli as the shooting of Baahubali had to be called off. The shoot of Baahubali is being postponed for the last three days incurring huge losses.

As part of a crucial sequence, Rajamouli wants total red soil on ground. Hence, several truckloads of red soil was dumped into the site and was spread all over the place. However, all the plans are spoiled due to rains. And the production team had to get more red soil and even it was failed as rains continued. With this, Rajamouli and his team gave break for the shoot till the climate comes to normal state.

Due to this, the loss is estimated to have incurred in crores including the dates of actors besides other production costs. Presently, the shoot of the particular sequence is set in a quarry in Rajendranagar of Hyderabad.

As the shooting of Baahubali: The Conclusion is being delayed, it needs to be seen whether the film makes it on time (April 28, 2017) or not.

Koratala Siva Is Next to Baahubali Director RajaMouli?

It's a common scenario in film industry that, actors and directors hike their remuneration for each success they deliver. Likewise, for his next film, talented writer and director Koratala Siva is rumored to have hiked 5 cr pay to what he charged for his last film Janatha Garage which is turning out to be one of the all-time highest grossers.

Even if these speculations are to be believed, Koratala Siva is still not the highest paid director in TFI. Obviously, with share he is getting through Baahubali series, SS Rajamouli is highest paid director in Tollywood.

So, Koratala Siva who is said to be demanding Rs 15 crores for his next film that will star superstar Mahesh Babu is second highest paid director.

In fact, his producers may not have the problem to pay Siva such staggering amount as remuneration as he takes care of both- writing and direction departments for his films. What's more, the director is delivering only blockbusters.

Siva has already readied script for his film with Mahesh Babu is giving final touches to it. The movie is likely to go on floors in next year, after Mahesh wrapping up his ongoing project with AR Murugadoss.
