Trending Now: Rajinikanth's First Selfie Video

The very down to earth Superstar Rajinikanth, who rarely makes his presence felt on social media, is trending now, thanks to a selfie video taken by him.

It seems Rajini has first time tried self-recording a video with his phone as he was seen in the video innocently asking his driver if the 'red button was on'. Superstar's fans who lap up anything related to him, are trending this selfie video on social media.

Last week, Rajini left for the US to undergo a routine medical check-up. He is expected to return to Chennai later this month. Post his return, he will join the unit of 'Kaala'.

On the other hand, there is tremendous buzz in Tamil Nadu surrounding his political entry. The actor himself has given a few hints on his imminent political plunge, and he is expected to float his own party on the eve of his coming birthday, December 12.

Rajinikanth's Daughter Gets Divorce!

Superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth, who has parted ways with her former husband Ashwin for over seven months, has got divorce officially today. With this, Soundarya's 7-yr-old marriage has come to an end on Tuesday. Chennai family court has formally approved the divorce and passed the orders for the judicial separation.

Since it is divorce on mutual consent, the separation was smooth without any difficulties. However, the terms of settlement and alimony were not known. Soundarya married to businessman Ashwin on September 3, 2010. The couple has a 4-yr-old boy.

Neither the custody of the child nor the visiting rights of parents on child are revealed. While the exact reasons of separation were not revealed, it's said that misunderstandings of the couple over various issues resulted in the breakup of their wedding.

When initially a few reports of couple's troubled married life came out, both have denied. However, after several months, both opened about it and opened up about their separation. Apparently, Soundarya was always 'keen' on having her name as Soundarya Rajinikanth more than Soundarya R.Ashwin that reportedly led to the debate.

Irrespective of the reasons, finally the couple has now formally separated. That's a sad news for sure. Hope the duo move on and lead their lives happily.

A Bad Alien in Robot 2.0?

Those who watch Hollywood films are aware that aliens attack the world, US primarily, in almost all alien-themed films. Aliens are generally portrayed as vicious creatures. In contrast, only a handful of Indian films have so far dealt with Aliens and in all of those films, only Good Aliens have come to India.

Take the recent biggies that dealt with Aliens - Hrithik Roshan's 'Koi Mil Gaya' (alien was Hrithik's friend), Akshay Kumar's Joker (2012) and Aamir Khan's PK (Aamir himself was an alien), in all these films, aliens are good-natured species. Not a single Indian film has ever portrayed aliens in negative shade. Well, this may change very soon.

It is heard that the first ever bad alien is going to come to India in Superstar Rajinikanth's sci-fi film '2.0'. Latest reports suggest that Akshay Kumar is not playing the 'Crow Man' but an alien instead in this Shankar directorial. The tagline of the film, 'The world is not only for humans', strengthens this speculation. If this happens to be true, Akshay's Alien character will be the first bad alien in Indian movie history.

Also starring Amy Jackson, '2.0' is slated for January 25, 2018 release.

Akshay as more space than Rajinikanth?

Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's upcoming science fiction visual spectacle '2.0' may reportedly have more surprises than what one could expect from this Shankar directorial.

As per latest reports. Rajini will be seen in 5 different characters in the film. He will play scientist Vaseekaran, a Robot, a Villain and two more intriguing characters. Watching Rajini in one character itself gives goosebumps to his fans. Imagine the euphoria this film can create.

On the other hand, Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar, who is playing the villain role, will reportedly be seen in 12 distinct looks including that of a villainous crow, which was already unveiled by the makers. Mohan Babu : Karna and RajniKanth: Duryodhana?

Today, Mohan Babu flew down to Chennai and met his close pal after a long time. The firebrand actor took to his Twitter profile just a while ago and tweeted, “Had a good time meeting my best friend. He looks like a King! In this kaliyuga,he would be Duryodhana and I, Karna!”

The Reason Why Pawan Kalyan is No 1 in South India

Actor-and-politician Pawan Kalyan is unarguably a true epitome of craze and following in South India, standing next to Superstar Rajinikanth. It would take a very narration to brief about his star power as everyone down south known how big he has grown up over the years.

On September 2nd, the actor turned 46. Needless to say how a star hero birthday is celebrated across social media - trending in top 10 for them is quite easy on that day, all thanks to fans.

But, the fans of Pawan Kalyan has made something unique this time. According to his social media fans, 565K+ tweets were floated on Twitter with #HBDPawanKalyan hashtag for 24 hours and this is considered as top tag for any hero in South India.

Earlier this record was with Kollywood actor Ajith Kumar (430K+ on his birthday). However, the numbers we compiled here are taken from Twitter.

RajniKanth wishes and promotes Bollywood super star for his new flim!

South Superstar Rajinikanth, who generally shies away from promoting his own films, has done the rarest thing of promoting an upcoming film. Well, Rajini has done this favor for his '2.0' co-star Akshay Kumar by making a tweet to wish the actor for his August 12 release 'Rustom'.

"Dear @akshaykumar... I wish you all success for your forthcoming release #Rustom," tweeted Rajinikanth. An elated Akshay replied saying, "Thank you so much Rajni sir. Would love for you to see it."

Rajinikanth seems to have made an exception for Akshay Kumar as the highly popular Bollywood actor has accepted to play the villain in his '2.0' just out of sheer respect for him. Rajini is not the first celebrity to promote Rustom but even Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan and Ranveer Singh have already done their bit to promote it. Still, Rajinikanth's tweet was crucial as it has the capacity to pierce into the masses and bring craze for the film especially in south India.

'Rustom' is based on the real-life incident of decorated Naval Officer K M Nanavati, who was charged for the murder of his wife's lover. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the film also stars Ileana and Esha Gupta. Rustom has been in news of late owing to its box-office clash with another high profile film, Hrithik Roshan's 'Mohenjo Daro' on this Friday.

Rajnikanth's biopic by his daughters!

Good news for all the die-hard fans of Superstar Rajinikanth. Rajini's biopic is on cards! If this isn't enough, here's the bigger news. The biopic would be made by none other than Rajini's doting daughters only. Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Rajini's elder daughter and director of 3 and Soundarya Rajinikanth, Rajini's elder daughter and director of Kochadaiiyaan, are toying with the idea of making a film on Rajini's life.

However, the project might take sometime. Currently, Aishwarya is writing a book on her father and the film is naturally the next step. When asked about the biopic, Soundarya confirmed and added that the plan to make a film with Rajini is long overdue.

"Of late, the thought of making a film on dad has been coming to our mind quite often," shared Soundarya adding that the film will focus on well-known facts from Rajinikanth's life and also reveal the lesser known stories in his journey. "His life is inspiration to many. So we'd like to chronicle it in a film," added Soundarya.

Soundarya concluded saying that she'd love to see a film on him. However, it's not clear whether Rajini himself would be playing Rajini in the film or not. Also, there's no clue on who's going to helm the project. Given that both daughters have tested their hand at direction, it needs to be seen who's going to wield the megaphone. Rajini's wife Latha Rajinikanth may bankroll the film. Let's wait and see.

Soundarya clears rumors on Rajnikanth!

Following enormous rumours about Rajinikanth's ill-health, Rajini's elder daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth has finally opened her mouth and set the record straight. Soundarya also revealed the reason behind Rajini's mysterious absence ahead of the release of Kabali.

Clearing the air, Soundarya said, "My dad's health is fine. He was shooting for Kabali, Robot 2 back-to-back. While one is a sci-fi demanding lots of costumes, action sequences, Kabali required a lot of night shooting. The physical strain was getting to be too much for dad, so we took him away for a holiday. That is why dad (Rajini) wasn't here for the release of Kabali, its promotions. We have asked him to cut down action sequences and he agreed. The family is making sure he doesn't strain himself."

Soundarya is riding high on cloud nine with the success of Kabali  as she was instrumental in getting this project ( However, Telugu version is flop). "Ranjith gave me two story lines - one a superhero film and other a Malaysian don. I got excited to the idea of playing the don in a setting like Malaysia and dad too accepted," shared Soundarya.

Kabali is no where near to Baahubali!

Super star Rajnikanth's 'Kabali' which released last Friday, opened to mixed talk. Nonetheless, thanks to Rajni's super stardom, it broke all the existing Day 1 records and collected over 80 crores worldwide. With this many thought that it would break 'Baahubali' records in no time.

But, the collections faced a huge drop from Tuesday and theatres were not getting filled. The film till now had a gross of over 172 crores in India and 90 crores abroad. After this week, the collection may reach 300 crores but it failed to reach 'Baahubali' records and will just reach half of its collections.

On the other hand, 'Kabali' producer Kalaipuli S Thanu said that they would make a sequel of 'Kabali' if Rajni permits. They have left the film unfinished for that purpose said the producer. We need to wait and see if this sequel goes on floors or not.

Is director's inexperience made kabli a disaster?

Dashing the high hopes surrounding the film, Rajinikanth's just-released Kabali poured cold water on the fan's expectations. Lazily-written script and poorly conceived scenes have made the film a big let down that even die-hard fans have left highly disappointed. Writer-director Pa Ranjith committed very basic flaws let alone the film's story, screenplay that are wafer-thin, lackluster.

Right from the cast (except the film's lead cast Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte, Nassar), the film has several shortcomings. PA Ranjith's inexperience is conspicuous as he recruited little known or unknown cast for prominent roles and that left viewers disconnect from the film. Attention to minute details is always good. But giving more attention than it needed definitely don't go well. That's what happened for Kabali.

This isn't all. There's more. The characters which really don't have much importance with the story have given more prominence and the final outcome is a damp squib. Inconsistency in the characterizations is at heights in the film. Also, there's no much heroism in the film that's usually seen in Rajini film. Given his super-stardom and humongous fan base, one can't miss Rajini's heroic acts, one-liners.

Had Ranjith corrected the aforementioned things, the film would have been a better one.

Kabali record in US?

Kabali, Super Star Rajinikanth's latest film, has taken the entire world by storm as it released in more than 4,500 screens worldwide. Following the last two duds in the form of Koxhadaiiyaan and Lingaa, Thalaivar's fans have been desperately waiting for a blockbuster hit with Kabali.

Making their dreams come true, Kabali has taken a flying start in overseas. The film's Tamil and Telugu versions released in 250 plus screens in North America and both the versions amassed a staggering $1.50 millions from their premiere shows.

Kabali's storm has taken none other than Tollywood's pride and India biggest blockbuster Baahubali as its first 'Bali' as Rajinikanth's mania has overtaken Baahubali's US premiere record of $1.39 million, with a few hours still left for closing.

With no big director attached to the project, this is simply Rajini's star power and it will not be a surprise if Kabali overtakes Baahubali's full run overseas gross of $7 million in its full run, with at least $4.5 million expected in its first weekend itself.

Even Kabali facing the heat of Piracy!!

If reports are anything to go by, Rajniikanth's most-anticipated film Kabali has been leaked online The rumours of Kabali leaked online gone viral and taken internet by storm two days ahead the film's release. Apparently, there are several links available to view the film in the Dark Web (overlay networks that use the public internet but require specific software, configurations or authorisation to access).

However, the film said to have got leaked after producer S Thanu obtained an injunction order from the Madras High Court restraining more than 169 websites from indulging in online piracy and infringement of copyright.

Following the reports of Kabali being leaked online, producers have kept the issue under the wraps and reportedly contacting the concerned authorities to remove all these unauthorised links to the film.

Not withstanding that Rajini's previous films didn't fare well at the BO, there're sky-rocketing expectations on the film. The social drama laced with action directed by PA Ranjith is all set for grand gala release on July 22. After Salman's Sultan got leaked online, now it seems to be Rajini's film.

Rajnikanth: They want to see me in larger than life roles

Just as Kamal Haasan's Papanasam got superhit talk yesterday, an interesting trivia regarding the film has been doing the rounds in the media. According to the latest buzz, the film's director Jeethu Joseph initially approached Rajinikanth for this Drishyam remake and the Superstar reportedly said no to the film for two reasons.

Apparently, Rajinikanth immensely liked the film's story when Jeethu narrated it. However, he was skeptical of his fans' reception for the family interrogation and the climax scenes. Rajini politely refused the film after an intense brainstorming and even Jeethu was convinced of Rajinikanth's apprehensions and told him that he will come back to him with a new script.

The scenes which worried Rajinikanth involve brutal torture of the hero's family by a bad police constable and also the hero revealing about the killing of the boy in the climax. Rajini is a demigod for his hysteric fans across the globe and they always want to see him in larger than life roles and can't accept him in submissive roles. Well, no doubt that Rajini made a wise decision keeping his fans in mind.

When this "Someday" will come, Raja mouli Sir?

With all the hype and hoopla surrounding his latest magnum opus Baahubali, SS Rajamouli is undoubtedly one of the most happening directors in the country at the moment. Can Rajni-Shankar's combo possible

Of late, the buzz surrounding the coming together of Superstar Rajinikant and director Shankar, two of Tamil cinema’s biggest icons, has intensified. The duo teamed up for the first time for ‘Shivaji’. The film went on to become a smash hit and reaped in huge profits for the producers. The superhit combination worked successfully once again for the blockbuster visual effects wonder ‘Robo’. The film created a sensation at the box office and stood as an all-time highest grosser among south films.
