Harish Shankar: Prove Or Shutdown the Websites!

Allu Arjun's DJ is one film which indulged in as many controversies after its release as it had before release. The film's 'collections' especially came under scanner with some websites publishing the collections taking the "figures being circulated on social media as reference".

Irked by the website/websites propaganda, director Harish Shankar has now thrown an open challenge. By sharing DJ's collections of Nizam region on Twitter, he challenged the websites, which had earlier published much lesser collections, to either prove him wrong or shut down the websites. The 'Gabbar Singh' director challenged that he would stop making films if his version of collections was proved wrong. 

This is the first time a filmmaker responded in such serious manner on fake collections published by some websites. These kinds of situations won't arise if the production houses announce genuine numbers or/and media houses verify with producers or reliable trade sources before publishing collections.

As per the numbers shared by him, DJ has collected a mammoth Rs 20 crore share in the Nizam area in just 13 days. DJ is the first Rs 20 crore film for Bunny and second for Harish after 'Gabbar Singh'.

Harish Shaker Warning to anti-fans on DJ Piracy

On Wednesday, ace producer Dil Raju has approached officials of CCD (Cyber Crime department) to seek their assistance in pulling out those people who are spearing some online piracy links of DJ (Duvvada Jagannadham) on social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Twitter. Director Harish Shankar also joined him when the producer complained police about piracy and they addressed media later.

Speaking to the journalists, Producer Dil Raju made an shocking comment - 'Our film DJ is being deliberately targeted by someone who can't digest its huge success at box-office.' The producer also submitted some information about listed Twitter, Facebook profiles that are continuously posting trolls and passing negative posts, comments against the movie. 

Later, Harish Shankar spoke to media and urged audiences and anti-fans to stop spreading such piracy links as it will no way effect the director & actor of the film. He further said, 'we have already received our payment from producer and if your intention is to defame the actor or director, you wouldn't be successful. And, in-a-way, it will impact thousands of workers who're dependent on films.'

On other hand, the makers are quite happy about collections as the film managed to pass the weekday test also. In first 5 days, DJ raked in 46.76 Crore share in Telugu speaking states and a worldwide share of 58 Crore (approximately).

Harish Changed her Fate!

Harish Shankar may have directed just half a dozen films but he surely is changing the fate of many actors with his films.

With 'Gabbar Singh', Harish erased the 'Iron Leg' tag of Shruti Haasan and became instrumental in her becoming a star heroine. She was part of several duds before Gabbar Singh, and after this film happened, she went on to deliver many more blockbusters, earning the tag of 'Golden Goose'. 'Gabbar Singh' was also a major break for Pawan, who had scored his last blockbuster more than a decade ago.
Now, this dashing director has changed the fate of another beautiful lady, Pooja Hegde, and produced another potential heroine for Tollywood. Keeping the routine subject of DJ aside, Pooja is winning accolades from every corner for her sensational glamour show in the film. Even the efforts of Bunny in playing a Brahmin character and his stylish dances have fallen second to Pooja's sensual sex appeal. Notwithstanding the result of DJ, Pooja is sure to sign a few more biggies in very quick time.

It may be noted that Pooja has so far been part of two unsuccessful Telugu films (Mukunda ad Oka Laila Kosam), one flop Tamil film (Moogamoodi) and an utter disastrous Bollywood film, Mohenjo Daro before she was roped in for DJ. Harish's magic has worked on her and she is on her way to become the next top heroine of Tollywood.

Pooja already has Mahesh Babu's 25th film, a Vamsi Paidipally directorial in her kitty.

Day1 Collections of DJ

Allu Arjun's latest offering Duvvada Jagannadham might not have impressed critics  but the film said to have opened to a terrific start at the Box Office. According to producer Dil Raju, Duvvada Jagannadham is the biggest-ever opening in Allu Arjun's career till date. The day 1 BO figures of DJ said to have beaten Day 1 numbers of Allu Arjun's previous blockbuster Sarrainodu.
According to trade reports quoted by Team DJ, Duvvada Jagannadham has raked in Rs 32 Crore world-wide gross (including premieres in the US). If these numbers are believed to be true, DJ has beaten Sarrainodu's day 1 record by huge margin. 

While Sarrainiodu's openings had affect of Bunny's previous film Son of Sathyamurthy that failed to meet high expectations, openings of DJ have advantage of Sarrainodu becoming blockbuster and thus pulled crowds to cinemas on the day 1. Also, rise in ticket prices (compared to Sarraiondu time) said to have worked in favour of DJ.   

Also, Sarrainodu had failed to do magic in US, overseas. Delay in the sending the prints to US then had affected Sarrainodu's openings in US and film being mass treat seems to have its affect. However, it seems DJ has got great opening in US. Thursday premieres and Friday collections said to be pegged at Rs 3 Crore gross.

However, going forward, it has to be seen how the film would fare at the ticket  windows. Huge pre-release business, mixed reviews, and climatic conditions pose a major challenge to DJ. Looks like, it is not so easy for DJ. But let's wait and watch what's in store for the film.

The wait is finally over as the much-awaited action entertainer, DJ has finally hit the screens on a massive scale. Let’s see whether it gives Allu Arjun yet another hit in his career.

Story :-

Dhuvvada Jaganadham(Allu Arjun) is a small time brahmin boy who goes against all odds and helps others. Seeing this quality of his, a high-profile cop(Murali Sharma) asks him to become DJ, a man who fights crime in disguise.

This is the same time when Dhuvaada falls in love with Pooja(Pooja Hegde) the daughter of a high profile minister(Posani) involved with yet another crime lord Royyala Naidu(Rao Ramesh) who also operates in disguise.

On the other hand, DJ decides to take on Royyala Naidu in his mission but does not know who he is in actual life. Rest of the story is as to how Duvvada Jagannadham alias DJ manages to finish Royyala Naidu.

Plus Points :-

One of the biggest assets of this film is undoubtedly Allu Arjun and his performance. Bunny is top notch in both his characters as Duvvada and Dj. But he is the best when he becomes Duvvada as his diction, comedy touch and mannerisms are hilarious. The star hero carries the entire film on his shoulders and makes the film watchable which has an otherwise routine storyline.

Pooja Hegde is yet another star attraction for the film. She looks drop dead gorgeous and will be an eye candy for the youth and masses alike. She matches equal steps with Bunny and her chemistry with the star hero is just awesome. The first forty minutes of the film has very good entertainment with good doses of comedy.

The climax of the film is quite comical and has been handled well even though it looks a bit over the top. Subba Raju is impressive in his role and evokes good comedy. Rao Ramesh emulates his dad, Rao Gopala Rao from Aa Okkati Adakku and does his best.

Minus Points :-

Like in many other movies of late, the second half of the film is quite weak. There is hardly any story to tell here and director Harish Shankar makes the villain’s track a bit weak during this time.

Bunny’s fans would a be a bit disappointed as their star hero has not danced to his full capacity in DJ. The length of the film is also a bit high and has a lag in many areas and gets predictable and routine most of the time. The hero-villain tug of war is not that gripping.

Technical Aspects :-

Production values by Dil Raju are excellent as he has spent a lot of money and it shows on screen. DSP’s music is decent as all the songs have been inserted cleverly into the proceedings. Background score is very impressive and elevates the film well. Dialogues by Harish Shankar have a lot of tongue and cheek humor. Editing is quite weak as at least 10 minutes of the film can be trimmed easily.

Coming to the director Harish Shankar, he has done a decent job with his execution. He has written Bunny’s character quite well and his intention behind the protagonist’s fight for the society is also good. But he too disappoints during the second half as he dips the proceedings with some below average execution. But credit should go to him for showcasing Bunny in a powerful manner and also ends the film on a happy note.

Conclusion :-

On the whole, DJ is an out and out Allu Arjun film to the core. The star hero is a major attraction and carries the film with his energetic performance. Pooja Hegde’s glamor, good comedy, and some mass elements will go supremely well with the masses. 

Will Harish Create A Magic For Pooja Hegde?

While we are wondering whether it would be correct to label model-turned-actress Pooja Hegde as the flop actress, she has got something big to dive in. Pooja's filmy career was critically at risk after her last film, first in Bollywood, Mohenjo Daro failed disastrously at box-office. 

After Mukunda and Oka Laila Kosam, she's set to be back in Tollywood with a biggie. Pooja was offered a leading female role in Allu Arjun's next Duvvada Jagannadam, to be directed by Gabbar Singh maker Harish Shankar. 

It's definitely an offer which no one could miss. Besides the fact that Pooja have no offers in hand after Mohenjo Daro's debacle.

With Gabbar Singh, director Harish Shankar changed the game for the slim beauty Shruti Haasan, when her career was under rough patch. Now, it remains to be seen whether he'll repeat the same with Pooja Hegde, who was a former beauty pageant. We wish to see Laila going big with this opportunity.

Duvvada Jagannadam, being termed as DJ, will be produced by Dil Raju and musician Devi Sri Prasad to score sound track.

After the blockbuster success of Sarrainiodu, whole tinsel town was curious on what would be Allu Arjun's next. Although he has a slew of offers from top directors including Vikram Kumar, the Stylish Star chose to team up with Gabbar Singh fame Harish Shankar.

The news is Allu Arjun and Harish's next film is going to have a formal muhurat today and the movie has got a name. It's been christened as "DJ - Duvvada Jagannadham". Devi Sri Prasad has been roped into render the tunes for the film and will have action choreography by Ram-Laxman. The hunt for the female lead opposite Bunny is said to be on and the film happens to be Dil Raju's 25th film.

And needless to say that the real test is for Harish who has to prove himself with the film to cement his position among top league of directors.

Reason for delay in Allu Arjun - Harish Shankar?

Stylish star Allu Arjun is on cloud nine after his last outing, 'Sarrainodu' endured in the list of all time top 5 Telugu films with a 75 crores share worldwide making it Allu Arjun's career best film, in box office figures.

After 'Sarrainodu', he finalized the project under the direction of Harish Shankar. But somehow, the film did not yet start which was presumed to begin from this month. 

As per inside buzz, the rationale behind the retard is that Allu Arjun suggested to improvise the script and hence Harish Shankar was working hard with the same. If everything goes fine, the shooting of the film will start from September.

Dil Raju is backing this project; we already know that both Dil Raju and Harish Shankar previously worked for a dud Ramayya Vastavayya and Subramanyam for sale, an average fare. And Dil Raju is also very keen on this project to make it a money machine at box office, so he even advised Harish Shankar to make sure everything comes sublimely as he doesn't want to see another 'Ramayya Vastavayya' from him.

Even after the flop of RV, Harish Shankar was not at all moved and in fact he is dreaming big about his future projects.  After the success of Gabbar Singh, he became an overnight sensation and industry’s top most producers made a beeline to him and even offered huge sum as advance. But, fate had something other in store for Harish and RV became a sensational flop. Without a second thought, the producers took back their advance from Harish. After RV, Harish was supposed to do a project with Allu Arjun and even Bunny had to take a back step and settled focused on an alternative one.

At the end of the day, Harish was left with no big offers lined up and now he says that he is planning to do an experimental film with low budget for his satisfaction.  He opined that many directors unintentionally are accustomed to making run of the mill movies and could not dare to touch some good subjects for fear of commercial failure. But, added besides doing high budget flicks for heroes  and audience, he will make it a point to do a small budget movie of artistic quality which gives him satisfaction as a director. So far so good, leave alone big budget flicks, anybody out there who dare to produce a small budget film with Harish.??? Any answers pls.

Sarvanand’s Run Raja Run details

Tollywood’s natural hero Sarvanand is on a high. The man has plenty of offers lined up for him.

He is currently doing three movies and besides these three he has given nod to another one too. Short films specialist Sujith will direct the movie and is planning an out and out youthful entertainer story tailor made for Sarvanand.

Mirchi producers Vamsi and Pramod are making arrangements to produce the movie and the unit has been considering Run Raja Run as title for the movie and Sarwanand will do a role of mobile thief in the movie. The movie will be launched in next year January.

Kotha janta details

With rumors rife that Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s latest super hit song from Attarintiki Daredi is being done as a parody on Sampoornesh Babu in Allu Sirish’s starrer Kotha Janta, the director was approached and questioned about the same.

However, the director said that they are plain rumors and that he has no such interest in making a parody of Power Star’s song.

But the director said his movie has got a remix of item number Atu Amalapuram Itu Peddapuram picked from Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 786 movie which was shot on actors Allu Sirish and Madhurima! Regina Cassandra is doing female lead for Allu Sirish in the rom-com. Anup Rubens is giving music to this movie and Maruthi is directing the movie. The movie is presented by Geetha Arts.

After the blockbuster hit of ‘Gabbar Singh’, Director Harish Shankar has become an overnight sensation.  Top producers and heroes vied with each other to do a film with him.  Producers lined up before his house and even shell out way huge amounts as advance.  Heroes were eagerly waiting for his call to listen stories.

Unfortunately with the flop of ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’, everything went upside down to Harish.  The much hyped film fell flat at the box office as it could not entertain the audience as much as they expected.  Of course, after GS hit, expectations over his next film with NTR were high and Harish should have taken extra care in the theme of the story and its presentation.  As a result, industry  pushed him to a low level again. Producers started taking back their advance and heroes have been maintaining safer distance from him. Even Harish did not seem perturbed with these developments and in fact positively acknowledged the same saying that it is quite normal in business.

But, he has a ray hope in the form of Allu Arjun.  As per the grapevine, Bunny is interested to do a film with Harish and given green signal to him. Though he had a project with Trivikram after his current movie ‘Race Gurram’, he kept the same on hold and given his nod to Harish Shankar’s film.  If the dates are manageable by Bunny, then both the films will go to the floors simultaneously. With this golden offer from him, Harish Shankar is all prepared and pulled up his socks in fine-tuning a script to deliver another blockbuster hit.  Bunny has once again showed the good side of him by supporting Harish in his troubled times.

Main hero in Mahesh’s ‘One’ – Gautam!

Prince Mahesh is all set to hit the screens for Pongal in the form of “One”. This film has heavy expectations. Eros International invested 72 Crores on this flick. “Why film makers as well as Eros invested such amount on this money?” is the question in everybody’s mind.

Mahesh’s market value is around 50 Crores and the investments are around 25 Crores above his market value. Even then, producers invested lumpsum money and they succeeded in selling the rights to Eros for the equivalent money. The main reason behind this aspect is that the presence of Mahesh’s son Gautam.

Even though, Mahesh’s market value is 50 Crores, presence of Gautam took it to 100 Crores. As a debut flick for this young Prince, spectators are showing utmost interest on this flick. Analysts are saying that the main hero for this flick is Gautam as he is the reason behind the increased investments.

Usually, Tollywood follows Bollywood. Any new technology or even marketing strategies they are the first and we are their followers. Mahesh has changed it.

With his 1 Nenokkadine movie audio launch happening in a unique way (first time in the Indian cinema) wherein audio launch will be live streamed to theaters and fans can watch it live from their places, Salman Khan too wants to emulate the trend for his next movie Jai Ho (Hindi remake of Stalin).

Jai Ho director, Sohail Khan, Salman’s brother too has appreciated the idea and wanted to go ahead following the new trend. If Mahesh movie costed 250 rupees you can expect Salman to charge somewhere in the 500 range for his movie considering he is the baadshah of Bollywood Box Office. Jai Ho is progressing with its shooting and is scheduled to release on January 24th.

One is not enough for Legend

The Nandamuri’s second generation man, Balayya may not have entered into mainstream politics yet, but when it comes to his movies they are totally in zoom and continuing the trend, his upcoming next Legend has been creating waves from the day it started to roll in.

First it was about the heroine/s and then it was about the customized super bike and then a weapon that Balayya would be using and then currently its about the item songs and item bombshells the movie will be having.

That’s right, people Legend will have more than one item songs. Boyapati Srini has come up with two item songs idea to woo fans and the audience. And with Devi Sri Prasad who is undeniably item songs specialist composer we know how explosive the songs can be to our ears. And we need to wait and see how impressive the songs will be picturized. If reports are anything to go by, then Balayya will do in both the songs and we need to see how much energy he can pump into these!

Harish shankar met Shahrukh Khan

In the industry, Harish Shankar is known as a person who speaks out from his heart and never mind saying things on face even if that invites trouble.  After a blockbuster hit ‘Gabbar Singh’, Harish talk was different with the flop of recently released NTR’s ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’.  This fluctuating attitude depending upon the outcome of his films may cause some harm.

After a long gap, he is in the media reports for posting a photo of Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan alongside with him in the twitter.  Seeing this, people came to a conclusion that he is entering Bollywood. He did the same act with Pawan Kalyan during the shoot of Gabbar Singh and with NTR for Ramayya Vastavayya and praised them sky high.

The fact is that King Khan visited Ramoji Film City for some shooting. Hearing the news, both Dil Raju and Hairsh went there to meet him and posed for a picture with him. But, cine folks feel that if RV had been a hit, one would never expect this sort of act from Harish.  Perhaps, after Pawan and NTR, it is now the turn of King Khan to come under the radar of Harish. Strange but true.

Gabbar Singh success brought instant fame to its director Harish Shankar and he too became over confident over night. But his latest debacle with Jr NTR showed the stamina of Harish Shankar and it changed his ‘most sought after director’ status to the ‘most dreaded director.’

Even those makers who have booked him well in advance after paying some token money are not showing up at the director, willing to even forego the money they have paid him in advance. One BO disaster has changed life for this director, sadly!

Earlier we have reported that Harish Shankar and Allu Arjun are coming together for a movie. But according to the latest buzz we got from the film nagar birdies, Bunny is hesitant (say, unwilling) to team up with the flop director. DVV Danayya were to produce the commercial entertainer if it took off.

Currently Bunny is doing Race Gurram under Surender Reddy and he will move to Trivikram’s camp next after Race Gurram and he will then act for film by Gopichand Malineni film.

Now Harish Shankar has launched a hero hunt in place of Allu Arjun. And know what DVV Danayya too dropped off from the project. So Harish might also need a producer for the film.

This the reason one should learn, when  you have a hit everyone run after you, once you deliver a flop thats it no one will see you again. every project is important and handle it with care.

Why Anasuya rejects

It has been a practice in Tollywood to pick up a few actors, actresses and other creative individuals who were financially broken and struggling for livelihood for a trip to USA.  Every year, MAA will organise a trip to USA and few other countries with a selected group of artists. Many of them vie with each other to confirm a berth for the trip, as it is an opportunity to earn some bucks besides enjoying the foreign locales. And to be part of this delegation, a heavy lobbying is there.

But, one girl who is not at all interested to be part of this group is TV anchor Anasuya.  She got to limelight with ETV comedy show ‘Jabardast’.  The show became a smashing hit and she got good following from all over.  Though MAA has offered a chance to her to visit USA, as she got fan following there, she has been rejecting.

Generally, no artist would like to miss the opportunity, as it is a to and fro paid trip with free accommodation besides they will return back by earning at least 2k to 5k USD.  In spite of all these, Anasuya was not a bit concerned for this trip.  Cine folks are wondering over her decision for not cashing on the fan following she has.  May be, she might have some other big plans, who knows???

Allu Arjun was supposed to do his next film after Race Gurram under Harish Shankar's direction. But with Harish's previous film Ramayya Vastavayya bombing at the box office, Allu Arjun is not taking chances with him. As per the grapevine, Allu Arjun has rejected two stories narrated by Harish Shankar till now.

Bunny's next film will be under Trivikram direction and it will go to sets in March. Allu Arjun will do Harish Shankar's film only after completing Trivikram's. Which means Harish Shankar will have to wait another year for that. Will he wait for him or move on to some other project?

Allu Arjun, Trivikram film was not on cards until a month ago. After Attarintiki Daredi, Trivikram chose to do a film with Allu Arjun and the actor readily accepted. He didn't even listen to the story yet. This is the difference between working with a successful director and failure director.






Tapsee on aagadu rumors

One upcoming flick that is creating huge hype before its debut is none other than 'Aagadu', featuring Superstar Mahesh in the lead. Directed by Sreenu Vytla, the film is expected to have milky siren Tamanna Bhatia in the lead, while cute pie Taapsee as the second heroine. This is claimed by a big media house in their newspaper the other day. But our hot beauty Taapsee has something else to say about this.

Clearing rumours on her presence in the flick 'Aagadu' as second lead, curly haired seductress Delhi, Taapsee Pannu quoted something interesting. The actress revealed that none has approached her to act in 'Aagadu', and she stressed that right now she is not doing any Telugu movie.

'No one from Mahesh's Aagadu team has contacted me for this role as being rumoured in tinsel town. I'm busy with the shooting of my next Hindi flick runningshaadi.com at the moment', said Taapsee. 'I've to complete my bilingual Muni 3 later, and of course running out of dates too', she added, quashing the rumours of her presence in Superstar's next flick.

Taapsee will be soon seen in Lawrence's Muni 3 and will be sizzling on Telugu screens with Tamil dubbing flick 'Aata Arambham' too. For now, she is not part of Aagadu!
