Anna Vastunnadu :: A Deal Between Y.S. Jagan & Nagarjuna Akkineni

When wild speculations about Nagarjuna Akkineni joining YSR Congress Party started doing rounds recently, Amala and a few other people close to Akkineni family had to condemn the rumors to put a full stop to them. A fresh rumor linking Nag and YS Jagan has surfaced now.
Gossip is that Nagarjuna is planning a film with political background, and that he is contemplating to name it, 'Anna Vastunnadu'. For the unknown, 'Anna Vastunnadu' is a reference used by YSR Congress Party workers for their President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This title was announced during the recent party plenary.

Reports are wildly circulating in YSRC Party circles that Nagarjuna has requested Jagan to let him use the 'Anna Vastunnadu' title for his next film and that Jagan has readily given his consent. As per the speculations, Jagan has asked Nagarjuna to campaign for his party in 2019 Assembly election.

Nag's counter Tweet for Chaitu's Tweet

That Nagarjuna is one cool father to his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil is a well-known fact. The father and his sons bond more like close buddies. In yet another instance, a couple of tweets exchanged by Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna are amusing their fans.
This morning, Naga Chaitanya tweeted, “Producer&director of #NC13 aren’t able to decide on a 1st look for the film.they have their own preferences.so will release both tomorrow;-)”
Nag then gave a hilarious counter, saying, “I guess we will know who is right tomorrow.” Needless to say that the talk is all about the title and first look poster of Naga Chaitanya’s ongoing romantic family entertainer in Kalyan Krishna’s direction, which will be releasing on the occasion of Ugadi tomorrow.

Chandu Showcased Nag And Venky Perfectly

Premam, the coming-of-age musical-romantic comedy film directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is getting rave response. Nagarjuna and Venkatesh played original roles of Naga Chaitanya's dad and uncle respectively in the film.

The cameos have come out as pleasant surprise for viewers and seem to be big advantage for the film. In fact, fans are happy to see the senior actors in brief roles alongside the young Chaitu.

Since director Chandoo Mondeti altered script without spoiling soul of the original, it is being liked by all section of spectators. And the director rightly used Venkatesh and Nagarjuna for appropriate roles.

Venkatesh was stylish and entertaining in cop avatar. The only sequence of him with Chaitu in college was amusing. Nagarjuna lent voice over, apart from portraying Chaitu's father. His sweet words about love are pleasing.

Naga Chaitanya showed variations in character. It is delight for fans to watch him in Soggadu get-up in pre-climax episode.

Chandoo should be lauded for effectively handling remake of Malayalam cult-classic. He succeeded in dealing both writing and making departments. In fact, it was not an easy job to remake such emotional entertainers.

Congrats to the entire team as the movie has already got hit talk!

Is It Nag's Worst Choice?

Akkineni Nagarjuna is one of the most successful senior actors in the Telugu film industry. So, his special appearances will be sought by filmmakers for obvious reasons, to get much needed attention for their films.

Nag's special appearances were seen in 6 films in the past one decade and surprisingly all of them turned out to be flops. 'Thakita Thakita', 'Jagadguru Aadishankaracharya', Lakshmi Manchu's 'Dongaata', Anushka's 'Size Zero', Akhil Akkineni's debut film 'Akhil' and the latest 'Nirmala Convent' are the six films in which Nag made special appearances in the past one decade.

While the first five have already proved to be flops, Nag's latest production venture 'Nirmala Convent', in which he also sang a song besides playing a cameo, is allegedly heading towards a failure at the box office. Is Nag choosing wrong films for his cameos or are his cameos proving to be bad omen for the films?

It may be noted that Nagarjuna's last successful cameo was seen in Raghava Lawrence's 'Style', which released in 2006.

Nagarjuna To Fulfill Samantha's Desire?

Actress Samantha, who has recently cited 'lack of meaningful roles for heroines in South' as the reason for not signing films, seems to have decided to produce films on her own.

'Why float a banner to produce films when I have a senior producer like Akkineni Nagarjuna as my future father-in-law,' might have been the idea of Samantha before she approached Nag to produce the Telugu remake of super hit Kannada film 'U Turn'.

In fact, Samantha wanted to act in and produce the Telugu remake of 'U Turn' a long ago itself after she was impressed with the original film. However, as she got busy with her personal life (possibly wedding turmoil) and prior commitments, she postponed the remake idea.

Now, her future father-in-law, Nagarjuna is heard to have offered to produce this Telugu remake to satisfy the hunger of Samantha for author backed and challenging roles. 'U Turn' is a heroine-centric psychological thriller.

An official announcement about the remake is awaited.

Is Chiranjeevi Ready to break TRP Ratings?

Nagarjuna hosted game show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu was one of most successful shows in Telugu with good TRP ratings for each episode. Few episodes which witnessed star celebrities had got ratings on par with hit movie screened in small screen.

It is a known fact that, megastar Chiranjeevi will be hosting latest and fourth season of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu to be telecasted in MAA TV. The megastar is shooting for promotional video of the show in Annapoorna Studios. So, a small teaser of Chiru hosting a TV show for the first time will be out soon.

When Nagarjuna was in bad phase, MEK gave him big support by taking him close to families and others. It was favorite show for elders and also students of different ages. Nag scored hat trick hits after hosting MEK show.

Now, in order to move close to family audiences, Chiranjeevi is set to host MEK forthcoming season. Nag has played his role perfectly. Well, it will be interesting to see how Chiru would impress small screen spectators. Like Nag, MEK is first TV show for Chiru as a host.

Chiranjeevi graced one of episodes of MEK 1st season as a guest. It got a TRP rating of 12.34 which was a single episode record. MEK average rating for a show for 1st season is said to be 9.33. Thus, Chiru is expected to break TRP ratings, like he broke BO records in his heydays in films.

Nagarjuna's Character Revealed in NC?

King Akkineni Nagarjuna is playing a crucial role in the movie ‘Nirmala Convent’. This youthful romantic entertainer is being produced by Annapurna Studios in association with Nimmagadda Prasad and the film is going to launch hero Srikanth’s son Roshan’s career.
Nagarjuna’s role in the film has been revealed by the actor himself during some interviews. Apparently, Roshan is going to face Nagarjuna as the hurdle in the second half and to win the hand of his lady love, Roshan reportedly needs to win over Nag first. Nagarjuna’s character in the movie is that of a tough taskmaster who is not easily impressed.
Nagarjuna says that he will be seen throughout the second half of this movie. The film is carrying a good buzz and it is going to hit the screens in a few days.

Promotions Are needed For Nirmala Convent

Nagarjuna's home production Nirmala Convent has been in the making since last year. After much delay, Nag has finally decided to release the film on September 16th.

However, the low buzz surrounding the movie's release is causing a deep concern for Nirmala Convent's unit. With no stars present in the film, Nagarjuna is the only hope to gain some openings. Even though the film has Srikanth's son Roshan making his debut, he's not helping the film gain a decent buzz.

With the low buzz on movie, the distributors have not shown much interest in the film and this made Nagarjuna to release the film on his own in many areas and it will be interesting to see if Nag will continue his success streak with Nirmala Convent.

Surprisingly, Nag, who otherwise shows a keen interest on promoting all his films, seems to be not bothered about the low pre-release buzz as he has not stepped up the promotions even though the film is just three days away from its release.

Nags seems to be over confident about his continuous successes and is hoping that Nirmala Convent will gain film his past glory. But the film may gain only if Nag goes all out in promoting it. On the other hand, fans seem to have lost their hopes and interest on the film already.

Hooping Amount For Om Namo Venkatesaya’s US rights

Nagarjuna’s ongoing devotional biopic on the life and legacy of Hathiram Baba, Om Namo Venkatesaya, is making waves in trade circles even before the film wrapped up its shooting. Nagarjuna’s stupendous track record in the US with his recent films like Manam, SCN and Oopiri and the super hit Nag-K Raghavendra Rao combo are the reasons behind this craze.
According to the latest reports, Om Namo Venkatesaya’s overseas rights have reportedly been acquired by a leading overseas distribution house for a staggering 6 crores. ONV also features Anushka, Saurabh Kumar Jain, Pragya Jaiswal and Vimala Raman in pivotal roles.
ONV has its music scored by MM Keeravani. The film will release as a Sankranthi treat.

Dad And Uncle are Playing Cameos For Premam

There have been reports that, Nagarjuna will be seen in a special role in his elder son Naga Chaitanya's upcoming film Premam. Nag clarified on it saying, he lent voice over for the film and also did a short cameo.

'I will be seen in climax of the film,' said Nagarjuna who is presently busy promoting his latest production venture Nirmala Convent which marks debut of hero Srikanth's son Roshan.

As we all know, Naga Chaitanya's uncle Venkatesh has essayed a guest role in the film which is an eponymous remake of Malayalam blockbuster film of same name. This is the first time the duo acted together, although Chaitu got to work with his dad in the super hit film Manam.

Nag and Venky's roles are not part of the original and were specially added in the remake. Cameos of his dad and uncle will definitely be a big boon for Chaitu's film that has Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parameswaran and Madonna Sebastian in female lead roles.

Premam audio launch event was supposed on September 20th in Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad. Apparently, the venue is changed with the Telangana government announcing renovation works for the auditorium in the whole month. As per insiders, Novatel would be the venue to host the event.

Interim, Premam will hit the screens on October 7th for dussehra.

Nagarjuna Thanked Allu Arvind!

After several months long discussions with various directors, Nagarjuna finally announced that Akhil's second film will be directed by Vikram Kumar, the maverick craftsman who gave the Akkinenis a memorable film in the form of Manam.

During the audio launch function of his latest home production Nirmala Convent, Nagarjuna mentioned about Akhil's second project and vowed to payback to the fans with a solid blockbuster.

Nag also thanked Allu Aravind for being instrumental in Akhil's second film with Vikram. When probed further, we learnt about the sacrifice made by the Allus for the Akkinenis.

Apparently, Allu Aravind roped in Vikram Kumar to direct Allu Arjun's next project after Sarrainodu. Things were all set and the pre-production was about to commence. It was then that Nag called up Vikram and asked him to helm Akhil's second project.

Vikram informed Nag that he has already committed to a project with Bunny. Nag immediately spoke to Allu Aravind and the Geetha Arts honcho relieved Vikram from Bunny's film. That's how Akhil got Vikram for his relaunch.

Nagarjuna's Risky Investment on Baahubali-2

Akkineni Nagarjuna is heard to have acquired the distribution rights of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' by investing a huge sum.

Nag is already busy with multiple personal and professional commitments. He is participating in the shooting of 'Namo Venkatesa', taking care of his businesses, producing films on Annapurna Productions banner, mulling over setting up projects for his two sons and still he got himself into 'Baahubali' business bandwagon.

After the phenomenal success of 'Baahubali: The Beginning', distributors from all the regions are betting heavily to grab the distribution rights of second part. Nagarjuna has partnered with Vaarahi Productions honcho Sai Korrapati to grab the distribution rights of Krishna region by investing a mammoth Rs 8 Cr. Apparently, this sum is Rs 1.2 Cr more than what the first part collected in its full run (Rs 6.8 Cr).

The expanded market of Telugu cinema, the ticket price hike and the unmatchable craze for 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' seem to have rendered the courage to Nag to invest such huge amount on Baahubali part 2.

Carrying sky high expectations, Baahubali 2 will hit screens on April 28, 2017.

It's Not Chai It's Akhil!

More than their films, the Akkineni brothers Naga Chaitanya and Akhil have been in the news constantly for the past few months with their love lives. While Chay is reportedly seeing Samantha, Akhil is in love with designer Shriya Bhupal.

Recently, Nagarjuna said that he will arrange a press meet soon to announce Chay and Akhil's marriage dates. In a surprising twist to the Akkineni brothers' love stories, Nag has finally made it official that his younger son Akhil will get engaged to Shriya on December 9, 2016.

However, Akhil's marriage date is yet to be confirmed and it will take place only in 2017. Meanwhile, Nag also said that nothing has been finalised about Chay's engagement and wedding and that they will happen whenever Chay is ready to get hitched. Nag didn't explain the reason behind this delay.

Needless to say, it is pleasantly surprising that the younger son, who is all of 22, will be exchanging the rings first. We will have to wait and see if at least both the marriages will take place simultaneously or Akhil will tie the knot ahead of his elder brother.

Nagarjuna's Heroine With Nikhil?

Actress Isha Koppikar, who predominantly acts in Bollywood films, is gearing up to make her comeback to Telugu cinema after a long gap of 15 years.

Isha will reportedly be seen essaying the role of a police officer in 'Swamy Ra Ra' director Sudheer Varma's new crime comedy starring featuring Nikhil Siddhartha and Ritu Varma of 'Pelli Choopulu' fame.

Apparently, Isha had made her Telugu cinema debut with Nagarjuna's 'Chandralekha' in 1998. She was last seen on Tollywood silver screen in 2001 Telugu film 'Prematho Raa' starring Venkatesh. This yet-untitled film starring Nikhil will mark her return to tollywood after a decade and half.

The project was rumored to be a sequel to Sudheer Varma's 2013 Telugu crime comedy "Swamy Ra Ra". However, a source close to the film's unit denied this and said, "It is being speculated as a sequel because it marks the reunion of the director and actor of 'Swamy Ra Ra'. But, this is a fresh script and the filmmakers are yet to finalize a title'.

The project will be produced by Abhishek Pictures and its regular shooting will commence from early October.

Lavanya In Kajal's Path?

Kajal Aggarwal has embossed her name in the cinema history books by becoming the only actress of this generation to romance real life father and son in different films. Now, Lavanya Tripathi is gearing up to repeat this amazing feat.

After pairing alongside Ram Charan in 'Magadheera', 'Nayak' and 'Govindudu Andarivadele', Kajal has teamed up with his father megastar Chiranjeevi for his 150th film. In her bid to repeat this stunning feat, after romancing Akkineni Nagarjuna in 'Soggade Chinni Nayana', Lavanya Tripathi is gearing up to romance his son Naga Chaitanya in a new film.

Akkinnei Naga Chaitanya has collaborated with 'Soggade Chinni Nayana' director Kalyan Krishna for a romantic drama, which will go on floors in October. According to that latest update, makers roped in Rakul Preet Singh as well as Lavanya Tripathi to pair with Chaitu. It is the first time for Rakul to share the screen space with Chaitanya whereas Lavanaya was earlier seen alongside him in a cameo in Manam'.

Lavanya also worked with Kalyan Krishna in the director's debut movie 'Soggade Chinni Nayana'. Nagarjuna is going to produce this untitled romantic drama.

Chiranjeevi have to recreate Nag's Magic and Legacy

Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna have been good friends for several years and even turned business partners with Maa TV where Nag successfully hosted the super game show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu for three seasons.

The latest and a surprising update is that Chiranjeevi has replaced Nagarjuna as the host for MEK for the upcoming fourth season which will go on air from December. Chiru is expected to commence shooting for MEK4 after he wraps up Khaidi No. 150.

MEK4 will mark Chiru's debut on television. The Megastar has an immense fan base even among the family audience apart from the youths and his presence as a host will indeed boost the game show's popularity.

However, the biggest challenge Chiru will face would be to recreate the magic and legacy that was left behind by the show's previous host Nagarjuna. Nag was charming and elegant during his stint and his craze among family audience increased multifold with MEK.

Naga Chaitanya's Next to be a "Ninne Pelladtha"

Majnu was the title considered for Naga Chaitanya's romantic entertainer film in Chandoo Mondeti's direction. Interestingly, the title was locked for Nani's new film in Virinchi Verma's direction. So, the original title Premam is finalized for Chaitu's film.

Naga Chaitanya will next be working with Kalyan Krishna who provided biggest blockbuster for his dad Nagarjuna with Soggade Chinni Nayana. Most sought after actress Rakul Preet Singh is confirmed to play Chaitu's lady love. Latest we heard is the title Ninne Pelladatha is in consideration for the film.

Ninne Pelladatha is one of the biggest hits in Nagarjuna's career and is considered as one of the classics of Telugu cinema for its beautiful portrayal. The Krishna Vamsi directed film indeed provided a break for Nag when he was going through lean phase with flops.

The title Ninne Pelladatha is sure to have its effect to generate interest among Akkineni fans and movie buffs on the project. Nagarjuna is producing the film under Annapurna Studios Banner.

Currently, Kalyan Krishna is fine tuning script. The film billed to be a romantic entertainer is likely to be launched soon.
