Kill Piracy before it kills Katamarayudu and whole film industry

Pawan Kalyan's latest release Katamarayudu already has a tough road ahead at box office amidst unfavorable response from audiences. Now, it is heard that piracy has become another big threat for this routine entertainer.

Some excited fans shared a few clips of the movie on social media sites on the first day itself. If that was not enough, a good quality print of the full movie has now reportedly surfaced on piracy sites.

After a solid opening, Katamarayudu has posted decent numbers on Saturday and Sunday. History has proved that Pawan Kalyan's films can sustain at box office for at least two weeks irrespective of other factors like reviews, promotions etc. However, piracy is one typical menace which can kill almost any film.

As a good quality print has reportedly surfaced on piracy sites, the impact was clearly seen especially at overseas box office. People of this generation might prefer to watch a reasonably good pirated print on internet over going all the way to theatres, especially when the film received mixed response.

If not Pawan, at least makers of Katamarayudu should appeal to fans and movie lovers not to encourage piracy and watch the film only in theatres. This initiation will surely encourage fans of Pawan to actively report the piracy links so that they can be blocked. This can essentially alleviate the damage.

Its high time film fraternity acted severe against piracy mafia. If a Pawan starrer can't escape from piracy, imagine the damage being done to small films.

Review : Katamarayudu

Cast : Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan
Director : Kishore Kumar Pardasani(Dolly)
Producer : Sharrath Marar
Music Director : Anup Rubens
Release Date: 24/03/2017

Whenever there is a Pawan Kalyan film coming up, there is a massive buzz all over. After the debacle of Sardaar, Pawan Kalyan is now back with Katamarayudu which has hit the screens all over today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Rayudu(Pawan Kalyan) and his four brothers live a happy life in their village. A strict and serious Rayudu does not marry as he feels that if a girl enters his family, there would be problems between him and his brothers.
On the other hand, all his four brothers are in love and want to get married soon. Knowing that in order for them to get married, they will have to convince Rayudu to marry first as he is the elder one. All of them get together, and make a plan and contact Avanti(Shruthi Haasan) to somehow woo their brother.
When things seem to be going fine, Shruthi Haasan’s family is suddenly targeted by Bhanu(Tarun Arora). Who is this Bhanu? What relation does he have to do with Avanti’s family? How does Rayudu save everyone? That forms the rest of the story.

Pros:-

Pawan Kalyan is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of Katamarayudu. He perfectly suits the elder brother’s character and carries the entire film on his shoulders. Right from Pawan’s traditional look to his classy dialogues, the star hero does full justice and impresses in an author backed role.
Shruthi Haasan is perfectly cast as Pawan’s love interest and all her romantic scenes with him are hugely entertaining. The first half has some decent comedy, romance and slick action sequences making the proceedings quite interesting.
Pawan’s chemistry with all his brothers is also very good. Shiva Balaji and others do their supporting roles quite well. Ali is good with his comedy during the first half.

Cons:-

The interval bang is just about okay and does not have much depth. The story of the film is quite routine and has some predictable scenes throughout the film. Things get disappointing during the second half as too many fights and dull emotions disappoint things a bit.
Anup Ruben’s music is the biggest disappointment for the film as none of his songs impress one bit and even come as speed breakers in the second half. There are not many twists during the second half as the film becomes quite slow during this time.
In spite of doing a superb job, Rao Ramesh’s role has been wasted in the film. The second half has no proper conflict of interest between the hero and villain as Tarun Arora looks pretty weak in front of Pawan’s star status.

Technical Aspects:-

Production values of the film are pretty good as Sharad Marar has spent decent money which shows on screen. The camerawork is top notch as the village visuals and Pawan Kalyan are showcased supremely well. Editing is below average as at least two fights in the second half could have been trimmed down. Dialogues are good and suit Pawan’s body language quite well.
Coming to the director Dolly, he has done a decent job with the film. After filling the first half with some very entertaining moments, he disappoints during the second half. His screenplay takes a beating during this time as the proceedings are filled with only stylish action sequences. Had he brought a bit more depth in the family emotions, things would have been even better.

Conclusion:-
On the whole, Katamarayudu is a treat for all Pawan Kalyan fans. The star hero’s emotional performance, traditional look and superb fun during the first half are huge assets for the film. Katamarayudu is bound to do well among the masses but we need to see how film does in the overseas. If you ignore the routine story line and a slightly dull second half, Katamarayudu is one film which ends up as a decent watch this summer.

After Shruti, Is It Pawan's Turn?

Right after the completion of 'Premam' audio launch event, film's lead actress Shruti Haasan left for London. This act is now being seen as tit for tat to Pawan Kalyan.

Shruthi Haasan, who has been roped in to play the female lead of Pawan Kalyan in 'Katama Rayudu', has actually allotted her dates for the film's shoot from September 1st week. However, as Pawan was busy with his political endeavors, she been asked to wait for indefinite period.

The regular shoot of 'Katama Rayudu' has started the other day and Pawan is expected to start shooting from 24th. As Pawan is now ready for shoot, Shruti has left for London to take part in the shooting of few songs of Suriya starrer 'Singham 3'. Now, Pawan has to wait patiently until Shruti comes back.

Dasari Teases Chai With a Compliment

Ever since the love story of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha broke out, they were not been able to face media properly and finding ways to escape journalists. However, Chaitanya admitted his relationship with the YMC actress at a couple of interviews in Hyderabad and Chennai.

The star couple may have been silently enjoying the headlines running about their marriage but people around them seems very anticipated to make it public.

And at the audio launch of Premam, Naga Chaitanya was publicly bantered by industry great Dasari Narayana Rao. In the process of detailing Chay's smile, Dasari said, "that smile & charm of Chaitanya attracted a star heroine." Referring to Samantha from Ye Maaya Chesave, Dasari adds 'Chaitu's boy-next-door looks might swept her off her feet." What followed it was an overwhelming response from audiences and a cheerful smile on Naga Chaitanya's face.

Trailer Talk: Chai Is Perfect Replacement, Soulful Music

The most eagerly awaited theatrical trailer of Naga Chaitanya's forthcoming film, Premam, has been released during the film's audio album launch function a while ago.

Die-hard fans of Premam from not only Kerala but even from Tamil Nadu and the two Telugu states have been curious to see if the trailer can recreate the soulful magic set by the Malayali original.

The trailer cut lacks the touching moments that were aplenty in the Malayalam original, makers might have kept them under wrap for movie. However, the makers were spot on with the casting. Chay is a perfect replacement for Nivin Pauly, and young Malayali kuttis Anupama and Madonna and even Shruti Hassan leave the fans mesmerized. Soulful music which played in the original is reproduced here with the same feel.

Right from the title to trailer, fans have been comparing it to the original. Let's see if at least the movie will live upto the fans expectations.

Shruti overcome it flawlessly

Actress Shruti Haasan is a brand ambassador of the famous choco-wafer 'Nestle Munch'. A commercial video of the brand, which shows music director Shankar Mahadevan singing a breathless song and then challenging Shruti to do the same.

A trained classical singer and composer Shruti Haasan accepts the challenge and croons the peppy number 'Munch Macha' breathless. Apparently, it was a tough challenge for the starlet. However, Shruti overcome it flawlessly.

In fact, this was not a regular commercial ad. There was full of energy throughout with lively performance from Shruti Haasan and the music trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy. Perhaps, they had great time shooting the commercial. The song composed by the trio was rocking indeed. Both Shankar Mahadevan and Shruti sung like rock stars.

On the film front, Shruti Haasan is presently shooting for Suriya starrer Singham 3 and Naga Chaitanya's Premam. She will soon join the unit of Power Star Pawan Kalyan starrer Katamarayuda being helmed by Dolly. Besides these, Shruti also has her father Kamal Haasan directing trilingual film Sabash Naidu.

Video Teaser: Magical Refreshing of Premam

Naga Chaitanya gave an early morning birthday gift to his father Nagarjuna and fans on the occasion of Nag's birthday. Yesterday morning, Chay released the video teaser of the super hit Evare song from his upcoming movie, Premam.

While it is already proved that Premam's team has stuck to Malare's original composition and repeated the same music composer Rajesh Murugesan and singer Vijay Yesudas for Evare, they brought in the much needed and a refreshing change to Evare by picturising the song in a beautiful foreign location.

However, the makers have succeeded in maintaining the beautiful emotions that were felt in the original in the Telugu version as well. Chay and Shruti look like fitting replacements for Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi, who stole the hearts in the original.

"Evare " is an instant Hit

The much awaited 'Evare' song from upcoming Telugu romantic drama 'Premam' has been unveiled and we must admit that it sounds quite melodious but falls inches short of the magical 'Malare' from the original Malayalam film.

Even though the 'Evare' song has same tune of 'Malare' composed by Rajesh Murugesan for the original Malayalam 'Premam' and sung by the same singer, Vijay Yesudas in best possible melodious manner, it still couldn't eclipse the original Malare. Netizens are expressing mixed reactions after listening Evare and most of them are voting for Malare.

Penned by Shree Mani, 'Evare' is nothing short of an instant hit melody though. While Malare was picturized on Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi, Evare has been picturized on Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan. Movie lovers hope that the video version of Evare will definitely dominate Malare.

Shruti Unaware of the happening tussle?

Even though Pawan Kalyan is not directly involved, there has been a cold war in progress between Allu Arjun and fans of Pawan Kalyan ever since the 'Sarrainodu' star seemingly disrespected the Power star who commands an army of devoted followers.

Despite days have passed since the occurrence of the incident, the situation has not yet come under control. Few days ago, Sai Dharam Tej added fuel to it with his 'Chepthanu Brother' dialogue. Now, Shruti Haasan is expected to further widen the gap between Pawan fans and Bunny.

Shruti has been roped in to romance both Bunny and Pawan in their respective new films. She will be simultaneously shooting for these two films and the clash of her dates is bound to become a big hurdle. Moreover, there will be unnecessary comparisons drawn between the two films, expecting each to subjugate the other. The films will be ready for release around the same time and the clandestine feud is expected to be at peaks then.

Unaware of the happening tussle between Pawan fans and Bunny, Shruti has signed both the films and would be held responsible in the near future for adding fuel to the fire.

Shruti Haasan's response on rumors

Actress Shruti Haasan generally doesn't care about rumors surrounding her and she never gave a clarification to anyone when rumors about her love affairs and bold photo shoots landed her in controversies. But, for the first time, Shruti has shown agility in reacting to the latest rumors surrounding her and Gauthami.

There have been several rumors doing the rounds about Shruti Haasan's disagreement with Gautami, the stylist of her new film starring and directed by her father Kamal Haasan, 'Sabash Naidu'. It is heard that Shruti expressed dissatisfaction over the costumes selected by Gauthami and forced her to select the costumes as per her inputs.

Soon after this news spread like wildfire, Shruti acted quickly to release a statement via her spokesperson to put an end to all the rumors. She confessed her intervention in Gauthami's work only for the betterment. She added that Gauthami took her inputs positively.

"Being someone who's a fashion favourite and followed extensively for her style, it comes as no surprise to see Shruti's clear minded approach to even her looks in her film. While being very hands on, she also ensures she's collaborating with the producer and director to freeze on her look so that everyone's vision is taken into account. Her role in her father's film is that of a young, feisty gal who's grown up in Los Angeles, who uses fashion as an expression of her quirky and devil may care attitude. Keeping this brief in mind, Gautami brought in a set of clothes for Shruti when the look test was happening in the pre-production stage. Styling being a collaborative and subjective effort, needs inputs from the producer, director and the actor and giving the stylist feedback, redoing looks etc is standard procedure. The core team mutually felt the look needed more to be added and specific feedback was shared with Gautami. Being a thorough professional herself, Gautami understood and brought in a new lot of clothes which seemed to work better. Shruti in fact, added in elements from her own closet to help Gautami and to really make the looks pop given that she has lived in LA herself and is someone with a very distinctive sense of style." Shruti Haasan's Spokesperson.

It seems that Shruti doesn't want her father's name get dragged in this controversy involving Gauthami so a quick and prompt response from her was witnessed.

Shruti: I dress up to stare at my reflection as I walk by store windows

Top actress Shruti Haasan, who has millions of fans, mostly men and youth of course, has annoyed her male fans and followers on social media with her recent instagram post.

Shruti is not only known for the lovable characters she plays in the films of star heroes, but also for her ability to go the extreme lengths of boldness to look ultra-sexy in songs. She is also notorious for the extremely bold photo shoots. Her fashion sense and audacity to go bold at public events has been criticized several times. However, the male fans and followers of Shruti love her for this exact reason. They take guilty pleasure in feeling that she dresses up or exposes for them only.

But, the sultry siren has now disappointed all by making a post saying, 'I don't dress up for boys. I dress up to stare at my reflection as I walk by store windows.'

Shruti's post has met with mixed response. While feminists have liked it, her hardcore fans are expressing uneasiness and annoyance in the form of comments.
