Literary meaning of "Rangasthalam" is 'stage' and everyone believed that mega hero Ram Charan will be seen as a drama-artist inside his new film.

Directed by Sukumar and featuring Samantha in the lead, "Rangasthalam 1985" completed its Godavari schedule other day and the team will soon fly to Kerala and the return back to Hyderabad to finish total work. Insiders have revealed an interesting thing about the title of this film, which we hear that Megastar Chiranjeevi hasn't liked initially.

Actually, the name of the village where the whole story happens is "Rangasthalam". Though such village didn't really exist in Godavari's Konaseema region, we hear that Sukumar has come up with this idea as there is a link to it in the story. 

Meanwhile, the scenes involving Ram Charan and Samantha are said to be a revelation both for their romantic content and comedy timing as well. Both the leads are flaunting their village-laced looks in some leaked pictures and they are a hit with fans. Rangasthalam 1985 is set for 2018 January release.

Why Did Sukumar Cried?

Tollywood director Sukumar is one of the noted names in film industry, who is known for penning interesting screenplays. Sukumar has the other day revealed that he inadvertently cried while just reading the climax of Srinivas Avasarala's new directorial venture 'Jyo Achyutananda'.

Sukumar revealed that he was highly impressed with Avasarala's debut film 'Oohalu Gusagusalade'. 'When I happened to know that he was making a film titled 'Jyo Achyutananda' as his second project, I requested him to let me read the script. The characters and the scenes were so funny and emotional that I couldn't control my emotions by the time I had reached the climax. This is one of those rare films that made me cry,' confessed the intelligent director.

It is nothing less than a huge achievement for Srinivas Avasarala as a creative genius like Sukumar doesn't praise any film so easily. Sukumar added that 'Jyo' is a love story cum thriller.

Starring Nara Rohit, Naga Shourya and Regina in the lead roles, this Srinivas Avasarala directorial is being produced by Sai Korrapati. 

He is the Best Writer After Trivikram

Tollywood director Parasuram, whose latest film 'Srirastu Subhamasthu' is currently being screened in theatres, has been acknowledged as the best writer in Telugu film industry after the 'wizard of words' Trivikram Sreenivas.

The remark wouldn't have been so important if it had not come out of the mouth of intelligent filmmaker Sukumar, who himself is known for creative screenplays and meaning dialogues. Sukumar made this comment while speaking during the success meet of 'Srirastu Subhamasthu'.

Being placed next only to Trivikram is definitely an achievement on Parasuram's part. As Sukumar doesn't make bloated statements, his word of appreciation is a big boost to Parasuram, who had also impressed with flawless writing in his earlier directorial venture 'Solo'.

Starring Allu Sirish and Lavanya Tripathi, 'Srirastu Subhamasthu' has been well received by audiences. Produced by Allu Aravind, the romantic comedy is currently running successfully in the Telugu states. 

TFI Latest Trend: Producers and Star Heroes are gifting their Directors

Call it an act of gratitude or an attempt to show special appreciation, producer BVSN Prasad has gifted a luxury car to director Sukumar as the duo's last outing Nannaku Prematho turned out to be good hit. Prasad has been contemplating to gift Sukumar ever since the film turned out to be success and finally purchased BMW X3 and gifted Sukumar recently.

Gifting director's with cars isn't new. Soon after the success of Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, producers Bunny Vas, Vamsi, have gifted expensive Jaguar car to director Maruthi. Producer Bandla Ganesh had gifted 44-lakh worth diamond lighter to director Puri Jagannadh in the past before the duo worked for Iddarammayilatho.

Star heroes too not any less in gifting their directors. Superstar Mahesh Babu has gifted Audi A6 to director Koratala Siva for delivering a blockbuster Srimanthudu. Jr NTR recently said to have gifted a 20-Lakh watch to director Koratala Siva before the shooting of Janatha Garage kicked off. NTR in the past too gifted watches to directors Harish Shankar, Sreenu Vaitla.

Looks like, directors are being rewarded by the producers, stars who're leaving no opportunity unturned to impress them and trying to be in directors good books. 

One step away Cherry-Sukumar movie?

Mega Power Star Ram Charan will be doing the official remake of the Tamil hit ‘Thani Oruvan’ very soon. In the meantime, work is also going on for a movie with Sukumar. In fact,there is tremendous interest in the mega family for this project.

Sukumar is a director who can change the image of a mass hero. That is why Chiranjeevi and Charan are very interested in working with Sukumar and the director is said to be working on a suitable story line for the same.

If Sukumar comes up with a suitable script and Charan likes it, the project could start very soon. Perhaps even in parallel with the Thani Oruvan remake.

Nannaku Prematho special fans show

As we are all aware that special shows and fans shows will be screened, few hours before the actual theatrical release. But, Nandamuri fans are very much pleased with young tiger Jr NTR's last release Nannaku Prematho's dominating show in overseas. 

On the special occasion of the Sukumar directorial inching towards $2M mark, NTR fans are arranging special fans show and also a success meet on January 31st. And appreciably, half of profits from the show will go for charity.

Tarock Foundation, Ashritha Media and Washington DC Nandamuri fans association are organizing the special show to be screened on Sunday at 6 PM at Centerville Cinemark and ticket price for the show is $9. And the success meet will be held at Sitara Restaurant on the same day between 3:30 PM and 5 PM.

Nannaku Prematho is very special movie for NTR, director Sukumar, music director Devi Sri Prasad and few others in the production unit who have dedicated the movie for their fathers. The 25th film of NTR has minted over Rs 50 crore share worldwide and has collected a gross of $1,955,902 as of Thursday. This will be first $2M grosser for NTR.

NTR unleashed Sukumar?

Junior NTR looks ultra stylish in his upcoming movie directed by Sukumar. A section of media constantly speculated that NTR would shelve this project because of Sukumar's inability to handle superstars. Few said that NTR demanded Sukumar to change his style and work on a commercial script that suits his image.

Everything turned out to be mere speculation with NTR looking outrageously trendy in the new look. Sukumar hasn't changed his style in experimenting with the way he presents his protagonists. This is highly risky for someone like NTR who is a huge mass hero to go for a complete makeover. This clearly indicates that NTR has given license to Sukumar in terms of everything right from experimenting with his look.

This is said to be an action drama based on father-son relationship. Tentatively titled Maa Nannaku Prematho, this film has Rajendra Prasad donning NTR's father role and Jagapathi Babu playing the villain. NTR fans are expecting a memorable and path breaking super hit with this film. Can Sukumar deliver is the question to be answered.

Will NTR - Sukumar film go on floors?

It's nightmare for Nandamuri fans. When will Jr NTR start his new project under the direction of talented creative guy Sukumar? This is slowly turning into a hypothetical question as the answer seems to be quite tough. After successfully failing to start the movie on May 1st, May 14th and June 28th, producer BVSN Prasad has come up with another new date. 

According to latest reports given by the producer, NTR's new flick under Sukumar's direction will be kick started from July 6th in London and the shooting will go on till September 20th. Tentatively titled "Ma Nannaku Prematho", the film has Rajendra Prasad and Jagapathi Babu playing crucial while the latter one is roped in for key villain role. With the film never going on floors but new dates just coming in, it's tough now to believe even if this date will become a reality. 

Producer however clarified that Visa related issues have hampered their chances of kick starting this movie's shooting at the earliest. However we heard that Reliance hasn't cleared finances for so long in order to materialise this film. Whatever it maybe, fans will get relief only when the movie gets rolled.

Will you allow it to happen NTR?

Despite having a roaring grip on box office, a sea of fans and a timeless stardom, Young Tiger NTR is tumbling to provide right food for movie lovers. Disasters like Dammu, Ramayya Vastavayya and Rabhasa have hurt him like never before. Though time and again he rose like a phoenix after tasting a row of flops, this time he wants the biggest image makeover to happen.

Echoing his interest on a pure drama like Malayalam movie 'Bangalore Days', NTR has given enough signals that mass-films are off the cards for a while at least. Latest we hear is that he wants to do a pure love-story with little action and maximum comedy. Reconsidering a past-story narrated by creative director Sukumar, he is now moving pawns to make this project happen soon. Earlier BVSN Prasad has announced a project in NTR-Sukku combination but that doesn't went on floors after the director has bitten dust with '1 Nenokkadine'. But 'Rabhasa' has taught enough lessons for NTR to change his mind.

Signing Sukumar at this point will surely help NTR to establish himself in a new angle. Formulaic masala entertainers are no more needed for him as people attributed larger-than-life image to this gifted hero already. Class movies with classic dialogues and screenplay magic with NTR's acting brilliance not only brings a big makeover, but also makes his films score industry hits. Don't you think so? 

Jagan Vs Sukumar?: NTR selection

Enjoying that feeling of fatherhood which he will get very soon, Jr NTR is making sure that his next flick after he becomes father in real life should be something special. Right now there are two scripts that are being produced at Bangkok and Pune for this daring hero. Check this interesting titbit now.

Generally NTR got this habit of picking up directors who scored big hits. After Santosh Srinivas delivered Kandireega, he is okayed by him for 'Rabhasa'. But our hero is changing his style this time, by giving chance to two star directors who made duds in the immediate past. One is Puri Jagan who delivered Iddarammayilatho with Allu Arjun and other one is Sukumar who got whipped for his over creative 1-Nenokkadine. Though Puri has done Heart Attack, considering Nitin's stardom and the flick's success range, there is no way it could be taken as a blockbuster. Right now, both Puri and Sukumar impressed Junior with their storylines.

After convincing NTR, Puri has flown to Bangkok to come up with dialogue version in a couple of weeks. At the same time, Sukumar went to Lavasa hill station near Pune to come up with first version of his action-comedy written for Young Tiger. So, which script is going to get green signal from NTR? Contrary to the rumours that did rounds till yesterday, Sukumar's team has now clarified that the project is very much happening. When a couple of media houses actually called the director for clarity over dropping the project, interesting revelations are made.

Actually it is rumoured that Jr NTR got alerted with the flop show of '1 Nenokkadine' and feared if Sukumar will experiment even  with him in the same way. Some gossip mills even went on saying that Attarintiki Daredi collections disappointed producer BVSN Prasad as he couldn't recover the whole investment and hence shelved NTR-Sukku project. But here comes the fact.

Highly placed sources confirmed that Sukumar has wrapped up writing script for NTR's film by sitting at a hill station named Lavasa in Maharasthra. From today, he will be writing the dialogue version of the flick and soon the flick will get into production phase. Also, BVSN Prasad is the producer of this flick, and another producer named Dr Sreenu Babu too joined him in partnership. Once NTR wraps up his Rabhasa shooting, this flick will go on floors.

So, there is no point to believe in any rumour from now on about NTR-Sukumar films as the project is very much happening.

One of the celebrated 'actors' families of Telugu industry, Manchu family is now coming up with this multi-starrer under Srivas' direction. It features Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Manoj and Lakhsmi too. The actor-producer revealed that the budge of this comedy entertainer shot up to to 30 crores. In that case, this movie is going to be a worthy treat for audiences who haven't seen any movie that could burst their bellies in the New Year. Films like Yevadu and 1 went on a serious note, and at a time audiences are expecting something to watch and relax, PPT is hitting screens. For now, from posters to promo song, all are creating huge buzz for Pandavulu while Manoj's lady getup is an icing on the cake.

NTR's next three films


Jr. NTR has been getting lukewarm results in the recent past. It has been a while since we had seen NTR in complete authority. Young tiger fans are waiting to see NTR taking box office by storm and rewriting history. The actor is also doing his best to fulfill the dreams of thousands of his fans.

NTR has confirmed his next three films after Rabhasa. His immediate film after Rabhasa will be directed by Sukumar. This is a mass movie unlike Sukumar's regular stuff. After that he will be teaming up with Mirchi director Koratala Shiva. Next year NTR will start shooting for VV Vinayak's film.

All these movies will be targeting NTR's strengths and also have loads of entertainment to make them appeal to all sections of audience. We can't say when a star like NTR will explode and if he does then it is bad news for other heroes. It will be hard to stop an NTR's film that gets blockbuster talk. We are waiting Tiger!

Mahesh has indeed reinvented himself with One Nenokkadine; one because he has dared to experiment with a complex role, two he has emerged as a matured actor especially in the emotional scenes and lastly he looks achingly handsome with a dash of style, which is something to die for for all movie lovers.

Well the news is that 1 Nenokkadine has usurped the third spot on IMDB with a 9.2 rating under the ‘highest rated thriller feature films’ acquiring over 7000 votes. While Dark Knight is rated on the fourth spot and Inception languished at No.6.

As we all know that the film did not have a good opening but word of mouth during the week seems to be doing some magic.

An obviously elated Sukumar stated, “The feeling to spot at number three among Hollywood movies is overwhelming. This proves that the standard of Telugu cinema has gone to another level.” He also added, “I should thank my technicians who did a brilliant job. I am also happy that Mahesh trusted the script and said yes to the movie.”

Raja mouli surprised by his visit on the sets of Baahubali

Very soon S S Rajamouli is sure to make us proud once again with his new project Baahubali; the actor made a landmark film in the history of Telugu cinema, which was lauded and hugely recognized by the audience and film fraternity as well. Now, the epic drama is brewing news by every passing day.

The ace-director is shooting action sequences of Baahubali on the historic sets laid at Ramoji Film City and even before the film is completed the hype seems to have spread vast and wide. It looks like not only the Indian film Industry but even filmmakers from Hollywood got news about the film and about also the creative genius behind Bahubali.

And as a result there was surprise visitor on the set of the film; the French Director and two times Oscar-winner Claude Lelouch visited the sets of Baahubali.

Mahesh Babu’s physiological thriller 1-Nenokkadine is being raved by film critics as a movie made to match the Hollywood standards and although the movie hasn’t been doing an impressive run at the box office it could attract several eyeballs, that of makers and heroes.

The latest one to become fan to 1 Nenokkadine is Aamir Khan and the Bollywood super star is going to step into the shoes of Mahesh’s role in 1 and remake it in Hindi.

That’s right. If the grapevine buzz has to be believed then the film is going to be remade in Hindi and Aamir Khan is already in talks to do it reprising Gautham’s (Mahesh) role. We could expect a little more details on this very soon. Aamir’s previous remake was Ghajini and it became a 100 crore movie.

Mahesh’s movie has been continuing its good run at the overseas box office where it has raked in close to $1.5m.  1 movie was produced by Gopichand and Ram Achanta and Anil Sunkara on 14 Reels Entertainment Pvt Ltd banner at 70 crores budget.

Sukumar will not experiment with Jr NTR

Audience that really vote for good cinema will obviously be hurt at the statement of Sukumar. But the director we guess is deeply hurt with the result of Mahesh starrer 1 Nenokkadine that he vouched he will not experiment but continue with rehashing the masala entertainer formula for his next with Jr NTR.

In fact, Aamir Khan who is keen on making 1 Nenokkadine in Hindi and approached Sukumar for directing it in Hindi but Sukumar wanted to stay away from it! He wanted a box office hit not just a hit like 1 to have his morale boosted that he wanted to make an entertainer with Jr NTR and of course with his style of hero characterization.

Whatever, we are missing a trying director who has taken Telugu cinema to a couple of notches higher with his recent psychological thriller with 1.

We have been hearing reports that director Sukumar is going to direct NTR Jr. in his next film. This news is now official as Sukumar himself confirmed that his next movie is with NTR. He told that he narrated a single point storyline to the star and he liked it.

Sukumar will start developing the script once he is done with promotions of 1 Nenokkadine. This is definitely an interesting combination as NTR is a mass hero and Sukumar is known for making movies with novel themes and different characterizations. It would be interesting to see what kind of film will Sukumar make with NTR.

Young Tiger is right now busy with Rabhasa and he will do Sukumar's film as his next, irrespective of the result of 1 Nenokkadine. Sukumar is known for taking his own time in wrapping up movies and therefore this movie may take some time to shape up and strike the screens. It will surely be a movie worth the wait, though.








Chaitanya is not trying to be a mass hero

Nagarjuna's elder son Naga Chaitanya is yet to break into the big league. Despite being successful as a hero, Chaitanya couldn't attain stardom for some reason. He tried his best to be up there by doing some mass masala movies, but those failed to give him the necessary break. But he is a quick learner and is heading in the right direction now.

Chaitanya is not trying to be a mass hero at this point. He believes in the talented directors and is grabbing every chance that comes his way. He has done Deva Katta's film Autonagar Surya, right after the director has delivered one of the best movies of recent times, Prasthanam.

Chaitanya's Manam starring all Akkineni heroes is being directed by Vikram Kumar of Ishq fame. He signed up a film with Vijay Kumar Konda, who made Gunde Jaari Gallantayyinde. Now he has signed another film and it will be directed by 'Swamy Ra ra' director Sudheer Varma. With a lineage of these directors, Naga Chaitanya is sure going to scale new heights in the coming days. Way to go Chai!

One Nenokkadine Movie Review

Mahesh Babu and Sukumar combination itself has raised so many expectations on 1 Nenokkadine. This film being produced by Dookudu producers and touted to be the biggest budget film in Tollywood history has multiplied the hype. The film is finally out in theaters after being in the production stage for around two years. Is 1 Nenokkadine the film that lives up to the hype?

What is it about?
Gautham (Mahesh) is a rock star, who suffers from a psychological problem. He has a troubled childhood and the images of that haunt him all the time. He is aware that three people have killed his parents and he gets nightmares about them chasing him and killing. Gautham believes that something has happened to his family and starts to chase those people.

Performances:       
                                                                                     
Mahesh Babu has given one of his career best performances in this film. He is a wonderful actor and Sukumar tapped his acting abilities to the maximum in this movie. Mahesh Babu excels in emotional and entertaining scenes. Interval scene is an example for how good an actor he is. The intensity he brings in is amazing. He is definitely the high point of this film. He has done some dances that will please his fans. There is no six pack scene, but he did go shirtless and appeared with bare back in a shower scene.

Kriti Sanon is alright as an actress. But her character irritates in the first half. Nasser is good and Kelli Dorjee is usual. Pradeep Rawat is standard and Posani Krishna Murali is alright. There is an item song on Sophie Chowdary and it is not up to the expectations.

Technicalities:                                                                                                                      
1 is a technically well made film. It has superb cinematography and top notch visuals. We don't get to see these kind of visuals in Telugu films often. Devi Sri Prasad scored with the background score. His songs are just average. We expect more from the combination of DSP and Sukumar. Editing is alright about the basics. But the film lags on and on and drags for almost three hours. Wonder what the editor was doing? Production values are rich and it requires guts for any makers to spend so much money on a film that doesn't have any commercial elements.

Sukumar is one director that makes movies with out of box ideas and novel themes. He doesn't try to do regular mass masala movies and always comes up with something new. Even 1 Nenokkadine has a very unique plot, but he failed to execute it well. He couldn't blend the action and the psychological angle of the hero in a proper way.

 
Analysis:         

The protagonist chasing his unknown past is a good theme that could have been dealt in commercial format. Instead Sukumar opted to deal it in a different way, something that Tamil directors do. But except for few brilliant shots and intelligent scenes, Sukumar couldn't do justice to the script and characterization.

First half doesn't move at all. Entire Goa episode is a complete waste and bores you to the core. Nothing happens until the interval point and things get suddenly interesting by that time. Interval scene is excellent and we can see the stamp of Sukumar all over it. Mahesh simply rocked it.

We expect the film to move at a faster pace after the break. But once again the confused screenplay starts to confuse the viewers and moves at a snail's pace. At one point the film ends, but the director somehow manages to drag it for another half hour. Those twists didn't work and the chases and action episodes just tests your patience.  

Mahesh Babu's brilliant performance is the only saving grace for this film. He has put in heart and soul in to the character and gave everything to it.

This aspect increased the hype on the flick. In case of “Atharintiki Daredhi”, entire film got leaked into the internet. Taking this aspect into consideration, film makers of “One” decided to put an end to piracy by including high quotient security for the flick.

At present, the film is in post production stage and the sources from the film unit stated that the film will release on time. First phase of “One” promotion was a grand success and the film unit may increase the intensity for the second phase.

Sukumar, director of ‘One’ is going to perform a rare feat in the movie by dubbing with 70 artists at a time.  Listening to 70 people talking all at a time will definitely give a new feeling to the audience. The first of its kind dubbing in a Telugu movie is underway.  As the existing dubbing theatres do not support this process, they have been modeled accordingly.  Sukumar wanted to have a natural feel in the scene and hence all this exercise.

Sukumar is known for his technical par excellence.  Each one of his earlier films compete with each other in terms of quality in technical output.  Very few directors are endowed with the rare quality of preparing a racy script and reflect the same on the screen too in totality. So far, the audience were never disappointed with this iconic youthful film maker who tries a new concept in each one of his movies and do succeed.

One thing is sure, Superstar Mahesh is going to give an all round entertainment this time for his fans. His upcoming '1 Nenokkadine' is going to be a 360 degrees showcase of talent and that is what including Sukumar, cinematographer Ratnavelu and even Mahesh have confirmed.

Earlier in Dookudu, Mahesh looked more stylish but somehow the masculine factor went missing. Later in Seethamma Vaakitlo he looked quite class and as that movie is a pure family type flick, we can't expect him look macho. But, it seems like even Superstar felt the need for a makeover and he got trained under experts to chisel out his body. Presenting that latest look, he signed a different script '1 Nenokkadine' under Sukumar's direction. So, his looks are fresh, but what about other lapses.

Yes, there is a talk and even Mahesh agrees this. Always, his dances are quite normal and never he tries some special steps. During his days as child artist, Mahesh enthralled with huge dances but it is real surprise to see him distance from them after becoming a big hero. To keep check to all such 'dance' talks, Mahesh says that he tried everything big and special with '1 Nenokkadine'. While talking at audio launch, he confirmed that choreographer Prem Rakshit composed all songs for him and asked his fans to get ready for the new dance show.

At the same time, director Sukumar stressed that fans should get ready for a 'new' Mahesh as the actor re-invented himself for this flick and is re-introducing himself to Telugu audiences. 


Seven year old son of Mahesh Babu is a marvel and has already begun to walk in the foot steps of his father to stardom.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is impressed by his son Gautham Krishna's ability to lip sync and mouth dialogues in upcoming Telugu action-thriller 1: Nenokkadine.

Gautham plays the younger version of Mahesh in the film, slated to release next year. 'Myself and Mahesh are extremely happy that Gautham was able to perfectly mouth his lines in the very first take' says the director B Sukumar without any strings.

'The kid did not even need retakes as he was so confident with his lines and even produced the required modulation for the scenes straight in one go, the director says. 

'Gautham's role is very important from the perspective of the film's narrative. He will be seen in my flashback scenes in the film and has some very good lines to deliver' says a proud father.


So, its time to get ready for January 10th, in '1 way'.
