Raju Gadu in the Hands of Akhil's New movie Director?

Young hero Raj Tarun has signed three films with AK Entertainments Banner. Lady director Sanjana Reddy is helming one of these projects for which director Maruthi provided story, screenplay and dialogues.

As per sources, this film is put on hold temporarily as producer Anil Sunkara isn't convinced with rushes, so has asked the director for several changes in script. 

The film titled Raju Gadu with tagline of Yama Danger will be back on track, only after proper amendments will be made to the script.

Seems like, Raju Gadu may not resume in near future, since Maruthi is not in a position to sit again on this script. The 'Babu Bangaram' director is currently working on a script for his next film with Akkineni Akhil. 

Sanjana, on the other hand, with lack of experience may not alone handle the subject. In fact, this is the reason for the producer to zero in Maruthi to pen script. 

Let's see what the producer and Raj Tarun decide on the project. 

Maruthi To Direct Akhil?

Akhil Akkineni's second film has been in soup from longtime. While there had been several speculations on what would be Akhil's second movie, here comes some clarity. None other than director Maruthi is going to team up with Akhil. After the success of Babu Bangaram, Maruthi has hit the jackpot to helm Akhil's second.

First Akhil was supposed to team up with Hanu Raghavapudi and 14 Reels, but the proposed film was shelved with Hanu set to work with Nithiin. Even Mythri Movie Makers was supposed to do a film with Akhil, but it didn't materialise. Akhil had planned to collaborate with Manam director Vikram Kumar and even Vikram was keen. But the film got delayed and Vikram is busy with his personal life. As Vikram is prepping up for his wedding in November and post which Vikram would take some more time and then start working on the script, Akhil has no other option but to choose others  as he has already waited so long for his second after his debut Akhil tanked without a trace.

The latest is that Maruthi's film is almost confirmed and it'd be produced by none other than Radha Krishna aka Chinna Babu. An official announcement is awaited and Nag would be making the announcement soon. Nag is very keen on the script of Akhil's second film. 

Negative talk for Thikka is helping Babu Bangaram

Expectations were high on Thikka before the release, since Sai Dharam Tej delivered hat trick of hits with Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, Subramanyam For Sale and Supreme. Even with an average content, Thikka would have become a big hit. Nonetheless, Thikka was criticized as meaningless film.

The Suneel Reddy directed film made of Rs 22 Crores is the highest budgeted film in Sai's career. One thing we must agree is lavishness is seen in every single frame. Other than that, the film offers nothing for any section of audiences.

On the flip side, Venkatesh's Babu Bangaram received mixed response after its release. Fortunately, the unanimous negative talk for Thikka is helping Babu Bangaram to rake decent shares. 

Moreover, there is no other film for Telugu audience to watch at theaters for now, other than Babu Bangaram, when it comes to new arrivals of this week.

In fact, Babu Bangaram is the biggest opener in Venkatesh's career. Although the film's collections slowed down on second day due to average ratings and also because of Thikka's release. 

Usually, openings will be high for medium to high range heroes films. Likewise, houseful boards were seen in many theaters for very first shows of Thikka. But, sudden drop in collections was witnessed from matinee shows itself.

As per trade analysts, the Maruthi directed movie made of decent budget would be a safe venture for producers as well as distributors in most of the areas, wherein Thikka would end as one of the biggest disasters of the year. 

Trend: damage-control measures : Trimming movie, even BB got trimmed!

If sources are to be believed, Babu Bangaram is trimmed by 8 minutes after the makers felt lag in the film. Few portions of the film were scissored in the edit room and it's said to be a joint call by director, producer and the star. It's learnt that the unit is now happy after the editing and all set to release the film this week.

Even the production house's previous film A..Aa had carried slightly negative talk before the film's release and reports had it that the movie was a bit slow. After trimmed by 15 minutes, the movie has released to positive reviews all over and the film got good response and went onto collect Rs 50 Crore.

Given that many films like Brahmotsavam, Sardaar failed to impress the audience and later trimmed after the release but haven't gained much out of it as the damage would be done once the film releases, makers are now opting for damage-control measures even before the film hit the screens.

Let's wait and see whether this trimming helps Babu Bangaram or not as Venky is pinning all hopes on this 'comeback' film.

Babu Bangaram excellent pre-release Business and Venkatesh stood by his producers

Venkatesh and Nayanathara starrer Babu Bangaram has completed its censor formalities and the film is gearing up for release on August 12th. The Maruthi directed movie is making excellent pre release business. The movie made Rs 27.5 crores business in terms of worldwide theatrical rights.

Nizam and Ceded rights were sold for Rs 6 crores and 4.05 crores respectively. Entire Andhra rights fetched 12.8 crores for the producers. Leading players BlueSky has bought overseas rights by shelling out 2.25 crores. Pre release business of Karnataka and rest of India has been closed at 2.5 crores, taking total business to 27.5 Cr.

The makers are planning to promote the film vigorously, but Nayanathara's unprofessional behavior is troubling them. The actress hadn't shot a song had skipped audio launch event too. She may not attend any of other promotional events too. 

Providentially, Venkatesh stood by his producers has promised them to handle promotions single handedly. Babu Bangaram marks 70th film for Venkatesh who did two films in Hindi. The film is also releasing in Tamil as Selvi. 

TFI Latest Trend: Producers and Star Heroes are gifting their Directors

Call it an act of gratitude or an attempt to show special appreciation, producer BVSN Prasad has gifted a luxury car to director Sukumar as the duo's last outing Nannaku Prematho turned out to be good hit. Prasad has been contemplating to gift Sukumar ever since the film turned out to be success and finally purchased BMW X3 and gifted Sukumar recently.

Gifting director's with cars isn't new. Soon after the success of Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, producers Bunny Vas, Vamsi, have gifted expensive Jaguar car to director Maruthi. Producer Bandla Ganesh had gifted 44-lakh worth diamond lighter to director Puri Jagannadh in the past before the duo worked for Iddarammayilatho.

Star heroes too not any less in gifting their directors. Superstar Mahesh Babu has gifted Audi A6 to director Koratala Siva for delivering a blockbuster Srimanthudu. Jr NTR recently said to have gifted a 20-Lakh watch to director Koratala Siva before the shooting of Janatha Garage kicked off. NTR in the past too gifted watches to directors Harish Shankar, Sreenu Vaitla.

Looks like, directors are being rewarded by the producers, stars who're leaving no opportunity unturned to impress them and trying to be in directors good books.

Venkatesh and Nayanthara starrer Babu Bangaram release is scheduled for August 12th. Apparently, the Maruthi directorial movie will see theaters on the date if and only if actress Nayanthara co-operates with the makers to wrap up the remaining portions.

As per reliable sources, Nayanthara hasn't given clarity over when can she allot call sheets. The actress who is hectic busy with handful of Tamil projects is not getting time to complete last schedule of Babu Bangaram. The makers are in tensions yet again as the release date is not far away.

Babu Bangaram release has been postponed countless times, because of Nayanthara. Although the actress recently promised the makers to join the shoot by July end or early in August is not giving any clarity for them. Nayan hadn't even attended the film's audio launch event took place in the month.

Due to her unprofessional behavior, no Telugu filmmaker is keen on signing Nayanthara for their new ventures. She was considered for several biggies such as Chiranjeevi's 150th film, Balakrishna's 100th movie Gautamiputra Satakarni etc. Nonetheless, she lost all the prestigious ventures owing to her busy schedules.

Nayanthara is the only hope for Venkatesh's film !

Venkatesh's upcoming hilarious entertainer Babu Bangaram will be dubbed and released simultaneously in Tamil as Selvi (which means Miss) on August 12th. Bhadrakali Films has acquired the rights for Tamil Nadu to release both the versions in the state.

Nayanthara who is a star heroine in Tamil right now is the only hope for the Tamil distributors, since Venkatesh is not a well-known star there. Few of Venkatesh films were dubbed and released in the past in Tamil, none were considerable hits there.

Nayanthara is in best form with back to back hits in Tamil. She is the highest paid actress in south. If a grapevine is to be believed, Nayan is demanding Rs 4 crores to sign new films. 

So, Tamil distributors are daring to release Babu Bangaram in the neighborhood state, to cash on her popularity. What's more, they are promoting the Maruthi directorial as a female centric film, it seems.

Interim, Babu Bangaram is in last leg of shooting. As we all know, the film which was initially scheduled for release in summer got postponed numerous times, only because of Nayanthara who troubled the makers by not attending shootings on scheduled dates. 

Aravind: He is one of the finest actors in Telugu now

Actor Nani, who is back in form, is on cloud nine with the super success of Bhale Bhale Magadivoi. Much to the surprise and delight of the actor, ace producer Allu Aravind heaped praise on him. Calling him as one of the finest actors in the industry, Aravind is all praise for Nani and his acting prowess. Speaking at the success meet of Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, Aravind said, "He (Nani) is one of the finest actors in Telugu now. Despite coming from a family which produced several actors, I could state that Nani is one of the finest actors in present generation." 

Expounding further, Aravind shared an anecdote. "There was a five-minute-long scene in the film which was carried off by Nani with ease. When Maruthi and I saw rushes, I was totally in love with the scene. I hugged Nani and told him that this was his best scene ever. But while we're editing the film, we had to trim the scene to bring down the film's duration. Maruthi and I were a bit apprehensive to convey the same to Nani as we had already told him that the scene was best. But it was Nani who came and told that movie is bigger than him, anyone and asked us to cut the scene if we think film would be slick. We trimmed it although we didn't want to as the scene came out really well. Had the total scene was there in the film, it would have been better."

Aravind said that he is a great fan of comedy and that's why he became fan of Bhale Bhale Magadivoi. "I came from family of comedy. My dad was a comedian and I personally love comedy. When Maruthi narrated me the film, I was bursting out with laughter. Observing my body language, Maruthi made few changes in the script and when I've seen rushes in edit suit, I realised that Maruthi kept an eye on me." Aravind added that the success of BBM has given him a lot of excitement, kick.

Nani's magic at U.S box office

How's trade like at box office now? Three films has released last Friday, and one among them is highly successful. It's none other than Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi. Both hero Nani and director Maruthi have scored a stupendous hit with this flick. And guess what.

Nani has emerged as a new star at USA Box office with the figures his Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi registered on First Day. All big stars might collect between 3 crores to 6 crores Gross on Day 1 at USA box office. But small films never get an opening at all. There are many happening films that fetched much below 50 lakh rupees on First Day at American box office. But Nani's film managed to get around 1.56 crores Gross on the opening day, which is way highest for any small film. 

This could be read in two ways. One, Nani has emerged as a new star in Overseas by winning hearts of family audiences. Two, small films with humorous content and positive energy are the new winners.

Director leaked mega hero’s story?

Maruti is directing a movie with Mega hero Allu Sirish named Kotha Janta. The movie is gearing up for release soon and audio launch coming up for audience’s verdict.

This is Sirish’s second movie, his first movie Gouravam becoming a dud at the box office! That is why his second movie has been planned in such a way that it will be assure shot hit! Meanwhile, director Maruthi said that Kotha Janta is a movie of two small screen celebrities who are anchors of a TV show named Kotha  Janta. To safeguard their careers in the show biz world, how selfishly these two hosts behave is the concept he wanted to show in the movie. Allu Sirish and Regina are doing the roles of the TV Show hosts.

While Maruti’s detractors are already writing off Kotha Janta as a copy item, since Maruti’s taking will be different we hope it will be appealing to all! Let us wait and see, what this copy item has to offer us!

Maruthi is no doubt a successful director, that is the reason why he shot to fame in such a short time. However, one cannot ignore that bad tag he’s got, vulgar director. His movies contain sleaze and vulgarity in abundance which branded him as adult movie director.

So he is working hard to come off it with his next with Allu Sirish and Regina. In factMaruti wanted to direct Bunny, but mega producer Allu Aravind gave a condition. He had asked the director to give a success to Sirish to grab a chance to direct Bunny!

And hence Maruti is taking time to bring out the best with Kotha Janta and with Radha also being shelved, Kotha Janta has become quite a challenge for Maruthi and its success or otherwise will decide the fate of the director. We hope he passes and gets to direct Bunny too!

Nithin gave a shock to director Maruthi

Nitin agreed to do a film under direction of Maruthi after he delivered a hit with Ee Rojullo. Bellamkonda Suresh gave advance to Nitin after Ishq and the actor agreed to star under Maruthi's direction. Maruthi came up with Bus Stop script and Nitin was shocked to hear such obscene subject and immediately walked away from that film and also returned the advance to the producer.

Although Bus Stop film turned out to be a money spinner at the box office, Maruthi earned lot of bad name for sticking to adult comedy. Nitin came hard at Maruthi during the teaser launch of Maruthi's production 'Lovers'. 'I think Maruthi stopped doing Boothu films and is concentrating upon clean films,' Nitin's statement left everyone in shock.

Maruthi couldn't even hide his embarrassment for a while. We can assume that this public insult will keep Maruthi permanently away from Adult comedies. Let's see if his clean image could get him an opportunity to direct Nitin in the near future. 

Venky's trust on young director

Venkatesh’s upcoming movie is a politics-centered romantic entertainer titled Radha. The movie was officially launched and shooting is to commence soon! First look posters of Radha are generating good craze with fans thanks to director Maruti who is taking extra interest in this. Why not, this will be the biggest movie for him in his career so far with big star cast like Venkatesh!

However, an interesting news about Radha is being heard in film nagar discussions that Maruthi has written the Radha script keeping in mind his favorite star Pawan Kalyan. But since the Power Star has other commitments he did not show inclination on the movie which eventually was told to Venkatesh and it is learnt he immediately liked the love story of the minister storyline and given his nod!

Even before listening to full script Venky signed the movie. That’s how he liked when Maruthi narrated the Radha storyline it seems! It also means the confidence Venky has on the young maker directorial and story narration capabilities. We need to see how far Maruthi will succeed in living up to the expectations!

Allu Arvind warned Maruthi again!

Recently released sleazy romantic film ‘Love You Bangaram’ directed by Maruti received a flak from the critics and family audience for its over display of sexy content and double meaning dialogues which reached peaks when compared to his earlier ones. Though he is specialised in making entertaining youthful love story movies to attract the youth audience, he banks much upon the vulgar humor and this time ‘Love u Bangaram’ crossed the limits.

Aghast over the reports being received by ‘LUB”, Allu Arvind who is producing a film ‘Kotha Janta’ under Maruti’s direction with his son Allu Sirish as hero, has given a stern warning to Maruti to keep a tab on his trade mark vulgar comedy. Geetha Arts is known for producing good quality films which appeal to all genre of audience.

Maruti was actually informed well in advance about the way the film should be presented, as such he should have take care to come up with a clean film, particularly when the producer was going to be Arvind.

Left with no other alternative, Maruti is just waiting for the audience to forget about ‘LUB’ and looks forward the release of Kotha Janta in April. Let us hope, at least with this film, Maruti comes up with a refreshing subject and its presentation too.

111 theaters are booked for?, Sankranti gift for Akkineni fans?, Controversy of ‘Radha’

111 theaters are booked for?

1-Nenokkadine is to set a new record in terms of number of theaters on its first day.

If we are to go anything by the reports from sources, about 111 screens are booked for the movie in just Hyderabad, and this is an all time record.

And the number of shows for the suspense thriller on day 1 would be about 685 which includes the paid premieres and the benefit shows. This is again an all time record for Tollywood movie.

All the post-production works are almost done and the film is getting readied for a monstrous release on January 10th. The movie censor show will be on 5th and in few hours from now we are getting the first copy of the movie. The latest trailer has been rocking the net and it clocked close to a million views already in three days time which speaks of the enthu and excitement contained by millions of Mahesh’s fans!

Controversy of  ‘Radha’

‘Radha’ next flick in the combination of Venky and director Maruthi,snowballed into a controversy in the pre-production stage itself. Going into the details, some time back, an Associate Director working under a reputed director who has to his credit many successful films, approached Venky with a story.  Not impressed with it, at that point of time, Venky expressed his unwillingness to do the movie.  As per the Associate Director, Venky has given green signal to do the same story with Maruti.

He says that Maruti has copied his story and that he would fight to get back his legitimate rights over the story.  He approached the big head of the industry, Dasasri Narayana Rao, and explained him his plight and even registered a complaint in the Writers Association.

Neither the director nor hero came out with an explanation so far on the issue. It seems one strong sentiment is gaining momentum in the industry that is making producers to create some sort of controversy on their movies and the film will be sure shot success. Let us see how many twists and turns ‘Radha’ will face.

Even after the flop of RV, Harish Shankar was not at all moved and in fact he is dreaming big about his future projects.  After the success of Gabbar Singh, he became an overnight sensation and industry’s top most producers made a beeline to him and even offered huge sum as advance. But, fate had something other in store for Harish and RV became a sensational flop. Without a second thought, the producers took back their advance from Harish. After RV, Harish was supposed to do a project with Allu Arjun and even Bunny had to take a back step and settled focused on an alternative one.

At the end of the day, Harish was left with no big offers lined up and now he says that he is planning to do an experimental film with low budget for his satisfaction.  He opined that many directors unintentionally are accustomed to making run of the mill movies and could not dare to touch some good subjects for fear of commercial failure. But, added besides doing high budget flicks for heroes  and audience, he will make it a point to do a small budget movie of artistic quality which gives him satisfaction as a director. So far so good, leave alone big budget flicks, anybody out there who dare to produce a small budget film with Harish.??? Any answers pls.

Sarvanand’s Run Raja Run details

Tollywood’s natural hero Sarvanand is on a high. The man has plenty of offers lined up for him.

He is currently doing three movies and besides these three he has given nod to another one too. Short films specialist Sujith will direct the movie and is planning an out and out youthful entertainer story tailor made for Sarvanand.

Mirchi producers Vamsi and Pramod are making arrangements to produce the movie and the unit has been considering Run Raja Run as title for the movie and Sarwanand will do a role of mobile thief in the movie. The movie will be launched in next year January.

Kotha janta details

With rumors rife that Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s latest super hit song from Attarintiki Daredi is being done as a parody on Sampoornesh Babu in Allu Sirish’s starrer Kotha Janta, the director was approached and questioned about the same.

However, the director said that they are plain rumors and that he has no such interest in making a parody of Power Star’s song.

But the director said his movie has got a remix of item number Atu Amalapuram Itu Peddapuram picked from Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 786 movie which was shot on actors Allu Sirish and Madhurima! Regina Cassandra is doing female lead for Allu Sirish in the rom-com. Anup Rubens is giving music to this movie and Maruthi is directing the movie. The movie is presented by Geetha Arts.

Oh My God – Jayant C Paranji again?

Premante Idera was the first Venkatesh directed by Jayant C Paranji and it was a super hit. Then there was Preminchukundam Raa which also scored a super hit at the box office. Now for the third time our remake hero Venkatesh and Jayant Paranji are coming together. The movie will be remake of the Akshay Kumar starrer 2012 super hit movie ‘Oh My God.’

Makers have felt only Jayant could do justice to this, and it is learnt that Venky would be playing Akshay Kumar role and the Paresh Rawal role will be played by Nata Kiriti Rajendra Prasad.

Attarintiki Daredi which has been running towards the 50 days mark and continues to be a threat to new releases. Pizza II Villa the sequel of successful Pizza has decided it will postpone its release fearing AD.

Director Maruthi bought dubbing rights of Pizza 2-Villa and even he is a huge fan of the Power Star, and he didn’t want AD to give way to his movie and decided to postpone the release by a day when AD will have completed 50 days.

Now that AD completed fifty days in maximum screens and Maruthi’s now ‘Pizza II Villa’ will release on a peaceful note. It may get difficult for the Pawan starrer to touch the 100 crore mark but its still becomes the highest grosser in the Telugu Film Industry.

Good news for 1 Nenokkadine fans

Super Star Mahesh Babu’s latest film, 1-Nenokkadine is in its last leg of its shooting but in the meanwhile there is this good news for all Mahesh’s fans.

That the dubbing work for the movie has begun after a brief pooja Hyderabad. First it would be for roles of the small roles and the junior artistes have already started dubbing for their respective parts.

In fact, it is learnt that the post production works otherwise too have begun and are treading smoothly at good speed. Unit is confident that they would wrap up with the shooting by December. And they have slated second week for the audio launch function and movie to hit the screens on January 10th.

Mahesh’s son, Gautam is making his Tollywood debut as a child artist in this movie. He is doing role of young Mahesh in the movie and Kriti Sanon is the newcomer heroine for Mahesh. Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta are producing 1 Nenokkadine under 14 Reels Entertainment banner. Devi Sri Prasad is first time scoring music for Mahesh’s movie.
