Vamsi to deirect Pawan Kalyan
After making a super hit film Racha with Ram Charan, director Sampath Nandi got a call from Pawan Kalyan. Although Pawan asked to prepare nice script for him, Sampath failed to do so. Therefore Pawan himself gave the story idea and asked Sampath Nandi to develop it. That is Gabbar Singh 2, which is all set to go to sets in December.
Now another director is going to direct Pawan Kalyan after directing Ram Charan. If the buzz is to be believed Yevadu director Vamsi Paidipally recently met Pawan Kalyan and narrated a storyline. Pawan liked it and asked him to develop it. Vamsi Paidipally also has a proposal to direct Mahesh Babu.
We have to wait and see if Vamsi will ready Pawan's script or Mahesh's first. Pawan Kalyan's next film will be made on PVP Cinema banner. Director is yet to be finalized for that film and if Vamsi Paidipally gets his story ready in time, then he will be the director of that film. Pawan, PVP movie will only go to sets after general elections.
Check twice before producing flims
Industrialists venturing into Film production has been there for a while. But not many tasted success in films. Giants like Sony Pictures, Reliance Entertainment and many others have been struggling to strike a chord. And the latest to join this bandwagon is South-based company PVP Cinemas.
PVP Ventures, whose core business is urban infrastructure and power generation, forayed into film financing and subsequently into film production under the name of PVP Cinemas. It has financed about 50 films including Kamal Haasan's much talked-about Vishwaroopam and produced a handful of big-budget films. Most of the films it associated with ran into either troubles (Vishwaroopam,) or turned out to be flops (Vikram-starrer Veedinthe in which PVP pumped in whopping Rs 40 crore) although there are few exceptions like Eega, Avunu and Balupu.
The latest film Varna, starring Anushka Shetty in the lead role, is being panned by critics and turned out as damp squib. PVP Cinemas is claiming that the film costed them a bomb of Rs 55 crore, if it's true, the production house is set to lose a whopping amount considering that the movie opened to poor reviews and expected to under-perform at ticket windows.
It's clearly visible that hasty decisions have deeply affected the leading production house and hence, resulted the downfall of PVP Cinemas. Word doing rounds on the streets is that PVP would face the similar fate of RR Movie Makers. Yet it's not too late. All Mr Prasad V. Potluri has to do is to realize and should make right moves from now in order to bring back the firm with a bang.
