Anushka Shetty's first look from Om Namo Venkatesaya is out. The devotional film features Akkineni Nagarjuna as the lead protagonist. Nag will be seen essaying the role of Baba Hathiram, the 18th century aficionado of Lord Venkateshwara. Anushka too will be seen as an ardent devotee of the Lord Balaji. It's learnt that Anushka's role has significance and takes the story forward. The Rudhramadevi actress has already started shooting for her part and this could be her most de-glam role she's playing on screen. Stylists have been roped on to style Anushka in very simple, traditional look.
It's common knowledge by now that ace director K Raghavendra Rao who had directed Nag's three previous devotional films - Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu and Shirdi Sai - is directing the film that seeks to recreate the life and times of Baba Hathiram. The movie, set in 18th Century, also chronicles the history of Tirumala. The movie is tentatively titled as Om Namo Venkatesa. The film's principal shoot will begin in July.
Pragya Jaiswal, of Kanche fame, is also seen in a special role. After hits like Soggade, Oopiri, Nagarjuna is back with a devotion film.
