Abhishek Pictures, one of the big players in Nizam film distribution, is spending massive amounts to acquire distribution rights of star hero films lately. Loafer and Kabali were the films in recent times which provided huge losses to them.
Not learning from this, they are risking again by investing big price on a dubbing film. The latest reports says that Abhishek Pictures has bagged Vikram's Inkokkadu (Iru Mugan In Tamil) Telugu rights by shelling out Rs 8.5 Crores. Actually, the production and distribution company has grabbed rights from other party.
This deal seems to be risky for Abhishek Pictures. Vikram didn't have a commercial hit in recent times and his last movie 10 Endrathukulla failed to see theaters in Telugu states since the original version bombed at box office.
The getups and visuals of Inkokkadu trailer remind us of Vikram's old movies such as Mallanna etc. What made the distributors to spend such staggering price, questions a trade analyst?
Iru Mugan was announced way back in October, 2014. Due to various reasons the film's shoot commencement got delayed several times. The makers have plans to release the film simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu on September 8th.
Young Tiger Jr NTR's highly anticipated film Janatha Garage is hitting the screens on September 2nd. It will be another risk for Inkokkadu makers releasing their film clashing with the giant project like Janatha Garage. In case, if they postpone the Telugu version to other date, response of Tamil version will affect the Telugu version.
So, tough times are ahead for Abhishek Pictures with Inkokkadu.
