Gambhir Targets Dhoni?

Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who has been out of the playing XI for past few years, has now smeared a fresh controversy by saying that biopics shouldn't be made on cricketers but on the people who have contributed and strived for the welfare of the society and country.

Gambhir's comments wouldn't have been controversial if he hadn't made them just a few days ahead of the release of the much awaited biopic on inarguable India's best skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The comments are now being seen as an indirect dig at Dhoni, with whom Gambhir is rumored to have a strained relationship.

"I don't believe in biopics on cricketers. I think those people who have contributed more to the country than the cricketers deserve a biopic. There are lots of people in the country who have done so many noble deeds for the nation. Therefore, biopics should be made on their lives," Gambhir opined.

Biopic on cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, titled "Azhar" was released early this year and a biographical film on Sachin Tendulkar titled "Sachin: A Billion Dreams" is also set for release this year. However, Gambhir's comment is being linked only to Dhoni based on the alleged relationship between them.

In the film "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story", Dhoni's character is being portrayed by Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput. The movie, which is set for release on September 30, will unfold the hardships Dhoni had to face to become the greatest and most successful captain of Team India from a small town Ticket Collector.
