According to
the rumors in trade circles, it looks like superstar Mahesh Babu proved his
drawing prowess by reportedly clocking 11 crore plus, to register new First Day
collection in T-town. With majority of 1100 theatres hanging housefull borads
and even 90-odd theatres in twin cities running packed, lavish entertainer
"Aagadu" has surpassed is rival Pawan Kalyan's Atharintiki
Daredi to show he is star to reckon with. "With unprecedented openings,
the film, would rake in 23 crores in the first three days itself, unmindful of
mixed reviews. With 8 to 10 shows in multiplex has been an added
advantage" says a distributor.
Another film that drew good openings was "Power" and it clocked around 14 crores in the first week but it lost many theatres due to the release of "Aagadu", Ravi Teja has been able to pull in crowds, but wafer-thin storyline, seems to have dented his crowd pulling capacity.
Rabhasa could make only 28 crores in three weeks and falling deficit by nearly 15 crores it was sold off and surely leading star NTR needs a blockbuster, to bounce back into the reckoning.
While other moderate hits "Geetanjali" and "lovers" had profitable run for producers and buyers, but suffered due release of star films as they were ejected out of theatres.
