Rajnikanth's Linga: Madras High Court posted the case for hearing on Dec 12th




Super Star Rajinikanth's upcoming entertainer “Lingaa” which features sizzling beauties Anushka and Sonakshi under KS.Ravikumar's direction is releasing on Dec 12th worldwide. But now the film release is going to be a doubt? It is known that K R Ravi Rathinam approached High Court on his complaint alleged that he complained to police on 1 Nov,2014 listing the offences of Linga filmmakers but no FIR has been registered. Court also issued notices to Director General of Police, IG (South zone), Madurai city Police Commissioner, Union Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Tamil Nadu Secretary of Information and Cinema.


Petitioner appealed to court to stay the film release and find out the true author of Mullai Vanam 999 by constituting a committee. He alleged that the respondents are trying to do the court by filing a certificate of another story only showing that it had been registered. Latest news is that before filmmakers could heave a sigh of relief that Madras High Court struck down one case of alleged story copy by a director, another director too approached court on similar charges demanding stay on the film's release. The film is up for hearing today. In the meantime another producer alleged that the film is a blatant copy of Mega Star Chiranjeevi's “Indra”.



Producer informed High Court that Lingaa is an "unauthorized copy" of Chiranjeevi, Sonali Bendre, Arti Agarwal starrer Indira. He said they purchased the film rights in 2010 and planned to remake the film in Tamil on Balaji Studios Private Ltd, Saligramam, and Chennai. Indra revolves around a man surviving the murders of his family members and his return and success in building a dam for the villagers. Madras High Court posted the case for hearing on Dec 12th. Let us see will “Lingaa” clears all huddle for its release or not!!!!
