Boyapati Srinu’s recent film Legend starring Balayya has been
doing well at the boxoffice and overseas as well. The main
reason for the film’s super success is the content and awesome performances by
the lead actors. There were no surprises whatsoever in Balayya delivering an
excellent performance but actor Jagapathi Babu’s role of a villain for the
first time in Legend has got him huge accolades. In fact, filmmakers have
indeed found a “local villain” and since the time of the film’s release of
Legend, Jagapathi Babu has been flooded with offers to play the negative
role.
Jagapathi Babu was always a woman’s man rather his on-screen
roles of a doting husband of two wives had won him huge
female-following. But Legend has proved that Jagapathi Babu is in indeed a
character artiste who can pull off any role with ease and élan.
Jagapathi Babu had a dull phase in Tollywood until Legend
happened to him and now that he has proved his mettle in an area he had
abandoned, the actor has made a quick change to
his fee structure; Jagapathi Babu who was charging Rs
50 lac per film before Legend has now heard to be quoting Rs 1 crore/film.
Should we call this a
smart move or does the actor deserve it?
