Ram Charan’s film Yevadu has finally seen the light of the day. After being postponed for several times, the movie was long overdue. But has it really meant anything to the waiting fans, and could it prove better than the Mahesh starrer 1 Nenokkadine? Read on…
Story line
Satya’s lover Kajal gets killed in an encounter and Satya goes on to find the men behind his lover’s death. His mission gets accomplished too but he gets attacked in the process by a third person. Why? And what happens to Satya eventually forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ram Charan delivers it well as much as we would expect him of a commercial entertainer and reminds us of his performances in Chirutha, Racha and Nayak. While he may have delivered as much the role is expected to, there is nothing unique coming from the star. But he surely needs to brush up on his emotions when it comes to romance. He stood a good match in the encounters with villain (Sai Kumar). Audience went on cheering through his dance in Freedom. Well, its b ecome a fact now that there can no one to match the dancing skills of Ram Charan and Allu Arjun, they have it coded in their DNAs actually.
Allu Arjun did a cameo and the fight sequence involving him was very good. In Sai Kumar, we find another good emerging villain and his screen presence is so good that it can overshadow anyone unless he is better. The lesser said the better about the female leads for they are meant for some dancing entertainment. In fact Kajal’s cameo was better than main leads Shruti Haasan and Amy Jackson. Jayasudha and LB Sriram did well in their respective roles.
Technical departments:
Vamsi Paidipalli presented a new concept but in the same package an average Telugu audience would like. We have seen him rehash the same old theme that makes the movie so damn predictable, sequence by sequence actually.
If Devi Sri Prasad was not the music composer we wonder how it would have been. He breathes freshness into old and boring template. Songs may not have been big hits nonetheless good. Cinematography and editing are basic and nothing outstanding.
MnG Analysis:
Yevadu’s concept was what we have seen in Face Off but the execution has exposed several mistakes. So in fact a new concept has been just wasted, thanks to the director who was at the helm of it.
Until interval its plain boring, thanks to the twist in the interval block if not the movie would have been trashed sooner! The latter half is full of masala mass elements with the villain emerging and giving the reason for hero’s stunts. Definitely it could win the heart of B and C centers with 1 Nenokkadine having a high thinking content not going well with the mediocre audience. For Ram Charan though it could be another film falling in the likes of Nayak and it could do commercially well along lines of Nayak.
Verdict: Don’t go with any expectations and you may like Yevadu!
