Bunny N Cherry film made some buzz in social media as people suspected that it and Yevadu movies had similar theme. However, Bunny N Cherry is a poor copy of Hollywood's 'The Change Up'.

What is it about?

Bunny (Prince) is an engineer and Cherry (Mahat) is a happy go lucky jobless guy who are facing some crisis in their respective lives. At this point drunk Bunny slams into Cherry's bike and both of them suffer severe head injuries. Dr. Satya (Suman) plans anti body methodology to save them from brain dead situation. After the surgery Cherry's body has Bunny's memories and Bunny's has Cherry's memories. How do they both deal with each other's problems?

Performances:

Prince is usual. He didn't mature as an actor and doing the same in all the films. He should work on his expressions. Mahat is a bad actor and he is still repeating the same mistakes even after doing couple of films. There is nothing to write about the heroines Krithi and Saba. Brahmanandam has been wasted to the core. He is an expensive actor and the director simply wasted his call sheets by offering him a stupid character. Suman did fine and Yandamuri is standard. All others did what the director asked them to.

Technicalities:
Director Rajesh Puli adopted a Hollywood script and tried to make it appeal to our viewers. There is ample scope for entertainment with this unique plot, but the director failed to get it right. The film hardly engages even with an interesting conflict point. Director fails completely and he should be blamed for this tedious fare. Music is mediocre. None of the songs are good on ears. Background score is plain ordinary. Camera work is substandard and so are the dialogues. Production values are OK. Editing is good in parts.

Analysis:

'The Change Up' has a fantasy element and the director of Bunny N Cherry opted for a medical mishap for the memory change. There's no need of logic for fantasy flick, but when someone creates a medical solution for such problem, there needs to be some logic in it. Director Rajesh failed miserably in this aspect.

This film will be annoying if you have seen the original and it may sound somewhat interesting plot device if you aren't aware of the original film. Even if we don't consider the original film, Bunny N Cherry fails on many levels. The film takes too long to reach the first plot point and until then it is a boring watch. It is bit interesting towards the interval. Director messed it up even though he has a promising premise on hands.

Director tried too hard to make the audience laugh, but it is a total waste. Bunny and Cherry dealing with each other's problems could have been entertaining as well as engaging. But due to bad direction and silly scenes, it ends up as a boring film that puts your patience to test. Bunny N Cherry didn't make any buzz prior to release which is evident by the empty theaters on the first day itself. They will go away even before anybody notices. Few unlucky people like us will have to pay the price for landing in the theaters.
