Rajamouli have learnt lessons from Baahubali

After all the film took 500 plus days into the making of its first part and still there is 120 days of shoot remaining for the second part to be wrapped. Definitely these umpteen days of making might have taught the Mahismathi creator a lesson or town. Let's meet the maker of "Baahubali" to hear what he says about the lessons learnt.

"One thing Baahubali has taught me is to have better planning before going on to sets. We have thought an year will be enough to make the film but it took 2.5 years and counting. If I'm little careful with planning, even after nailing out to all the minute details in a scene, the shoot would have got finished in lesser time", says Rajamouli, talking about the first lesson he has learnt. There is another lesson, which he hasn't learnt now but sharing it for others.

"Towards the end of shooting, while 20% of shoot is remaining, energy levels among cast and crew have dropped. Though I'm getting irritate inside, I've to put up an exciting face and energise and inspire them all. Probably any filmmaker should do that", he adds. For now, those are the lessons from the giant. If you have something to learn from his movies, wait for July 10th.

Manoj: smart answer to his troll

Of late, film stars seem to be in no mood to give in to the bullying ways of their trolls on the internet. First it was Vishakha Singh and Abhishek Bachchan and even our very own Swathi. Latest to join the list is the Rocking Manchu hero, Manoj. Yesterday morning, Manoj retweeted a fan's tweet which congratulated Manoj's sister and actress, Manchu Lakshmi, for winning the Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor Female.

Soon, one of the cyber bullies tried to be over smart and tagged Manoj and Lakshmi and tweeted, "LOL paid awards". Needless to say, this irked the doting Manchu brother and Manoj replied with composure saying, "Awesome then prove us by buying one :)". This naturally made the bully realize his mistake and quit the conversation.

The recently concluded Filmfare south awards have been under the scanner for some really outlandish choices as the winners and numerous discussions have been carried out by media houses and film lovers. But when the criticism gets personal, no one will be ready to accept it, since keeping calm will only increase the menace.

Mohan Babu: one hit feels like a CM

Heaping a rain of satires on young heroes, senior actor-producer Mohan Babu breathed fire the other day. Sharing his thoughts at an audio function in Chennai, he spoke in a linguistic mixture of Telugu, Tamil and English to vent fumes at younger generation that is apathetic to care for others.

'Today's younger generation of heroes are not in a mood to listen to us, the seniors. They think they are the bosses in their own way. Even a hero whose first film is a hit feels like becoming Chief Minister of a state. For that reason I'm not giving any advises to young heroes nowadays', said Mohan Babu, in a serious tone. He elaborates further, 'Whenever a heroine used to meet after years post a film's shooting, we used to greet them and inquire about their family and wellbeing. But these days such friendliness is missing'.

There is truth in what Mohan Babu has said, says few other senior actors, who agree completely that younger generation feels like lords but they are miles behind from the likes of NTR, ANR and Chiru, whose discipline and caring gestures are second to nothing. Are our younger generation listening?

Naresh want to conquer after Baahubali

Birthday boy Allari Naresh took to the occasion to reveal the release date of his forthcoming flick 'James Bond' which missed out June 26th for unknown reasons. At that time, this tall and thin guy posed a threat to 'Rudramadevi' that eyed the same 26th slot. Quite surprisingly both walked out of that date and 'Tiger' is cashing it.

Cut to the present, Naresh is coming up with 'James Bond' on July 17th. This date got highly popularise as Mahesh Babu was supposed to arrive on that date but got his 'Srimanthudu' pushed to new date as he wants to give breathing space to 'Baahubali' which is hitting cinemas on July 10th. However, our comedy star is daring to come after a week Rajamouli's magnum opus releases. By that time, Baahubali will be the only film around in all theatres, so Naresh will remain the second best option for audiences.

Tipped to be a comedy of errors which is based on Korean movie 'My Wife Is A Gangster', the film is likely to cast its magic on B&C centres. What's to be seen is, whether it will withstand the tide Baahubali and deliver that long pending hit to our comedy star.

Nag thanked Allu Arjun

The recently concluded Filmfare South awards saw the sharing of major awards between two of the biggest blockbusters of 2014, Race Gurram and Manam. While Allu Arjun won the Best Actor award for Race Gurram, Manam won the Best Film honor. Yesterday, Allu Arjun dedicated his Filmfare award to the departed legend of Telugu Cinema, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

Bunny’s touching gesture was welcomed not only by Mega fans but also the Akkineni fans, who thanked and appreciated Bunny for his tribute to ANR. This afternoon, ANR’s son and popular actor Nagarjuna appreciated Bunny and tweeted, “Thank you Allu Arjun for dedicating your award to ANR and your words”.

Such gestures only show the mutual respect and admiration between the high profile film families in Telugu film industry.

Pic talk: Mahesh's perfectly timed capture

Here's the most memorable moment when the adorably handsome Gautham held his equally charming father and Tollywood's Superstar Mahesh Babu's hand and walked beside him at a recent event. This perfectly timed capture narrates so many amusing things in one picture. The usually reclusive Superstar goes all his way to always be his family's side.

Gautham and Mahesh first appeared together in one frame on the silver screen in 1 Nenokkadine. The film's climax see Gautham running through the woods while his father and the film's hero Mahesh Babu runs behind him in the search of his childhood. The particular scene created rousing cheers from Ghattamaneni's fans.

Will NTR - Sukumar film go on floors?

It's nightmare for Nandamuri fans. When will Jr NTR start his new project under the direction of talented creative guy Sukumar? This is slowly turning into a hypothetical question as the answer seems to be quite tough. After successfully failing to start the movie on May 1st, May 14th and June 28th, producer BVSN Prasad has come up with another new date.

According to latest reports given by the producer, NTR's new flick under Sukumar's direction will be kick started from July 6th in London and the shooting will go on till September 20th. Tentatively titled "Ma Nannaku Prematho", the film has Rajendra Prasad and Jagapathi Babu playing crucial while the latter one is roped in for key villain role. With the film never going on floors but new dates just coming in, it's tough now to believe even if this date will become a reality.

Producer however clarified that Visa related issues have hampered their chances of kick starting this movie's shooting at the earliest. However we heard that Reliance hasn't cleared finances for so long in order to materialise this film. Whatever it maybe, fans will get relief only when the movie gets rolled.

Raja mouli and Senthil are working heavily on color grading

In the era of digital cinematography, more and more advancements are being done to visual such that they bring out right mood.

When films are shot on negative, most of the mood setup was done with lights during filming itself because less can be corrected in optics while printing a negative or positive. Now that digital cameras are recording clips on memory cards, apart from the mood imparted by lighting schemes so many color corrections could be done in post production.

Coming to point, Rajamouli and his cinematographer Senthil are right now working heavily on the colour grading of the film. A scene shot under broad day light could be turned into moon-light sequence in the grading. Sitting along with colorist, Baahubali makers are tweaking every single frame to give that larger-than-life feel to audiences without any miss. Firstly it is actors who bring in the right mood, then the environment and later sound will add to magic. For a VFX film however, right computer graphics and color grading will do more favour on par with others.

July 10th is the release date of Baahubali, and Censor Board has already awards an U/A for the flick. Get ready to catch the humongous entertainment on silver screen.

Pawan's Fan is Chaitu's Villain

Akkinein hero Naga Chaitanya is feeling lucky this time because he's working with his favourite Gautham Menon yet again. In fact it is this director who gave Chaitu the first big break with Ye Maya Chesave. So, it's natural to expect similar break again.

Coming to the star-cast of this film, which is being made as a bilingual with Chaitu in Telugu and Simbu in Tamil, already we have Mallu actress Manjima Mohan playing the lead. No doubt, she's a new face. The next to add for this cast is rapper Baba Sehgal, the man who loves to make songs on Pawan Kalyan and for Pawan Kalyan. Guess what's the big surprise. He's playing as lead villain for the movie in both Tamil and Telugu versions.

Already Baba Sehgal, has played villain in Rudramadevi in the character of Nagadevudu. This is a small character and may not fetch him the needed advantage at box office. And now with Chaitu's film he is turning a full-length villain, so expect a big turning point in his career.

Naga Sourya faced heat from other star's fans

Tollywood fans are usually involved in murky catfights with fans of other stars and this has undoubtedly created a bad blood in the industry. Fighting for the supremacy and the popularity of their favorite stars has become a routine for fans, while they fail to realize that the stars they all are fighting for, maintain friendly relationships with their co-stars.

In a latest episode, young and handsome actor Naga Shaurya faced the brunt of other stars' fans. Last night, Naga Shaurya conducted a live chat session with his Twitter fans to promote his film. In one of the questions, a Mega fan asked the young hero his opinion about Mega Star Chiranjeevi. To this, Naga Shaurya said, "Number 1 in Tollywood ..No matters what !!!!" While the upcoming actor showed his courtesy and humility in acknowledging the might of his senior, a section of other star's fans could not accept this and some of them openly expressed their dissent to the young star.

Let us hope that fans will become less emotional and more sensible and learn the fact that the magnanimity of their stars does not shrink if someone praises other stars.

Tamannah: Prabhas was generous enough to teach

Ravishing beauty Tamannaah was the last star to join Baahubali and has been promoting the film quite aggressively in the north. Her popularity among the Bollywood audiences has become a plus for Baahubali. In one of the interviews given to a leading news daily, Tamannaah revealed several interesting facts about how she prepared for Avanthika, her character in the film.

Tamannaah said that she plays Prabhas' love interest in the film and that Prabhas was extremely nice and helped her throughout the shoot. Tamannaah also revealed that she knocked at Prabhas' door at night on day and asked him to teach her how to hold the sword and fight and Prabhas was generous enough to teach her a few tricks.

Tamannaah said that Baahubali was a huge challenge since they shot for 18 hours a day for more than a year in extremely tough conditions. The gorgeous beauty further said that she performed in several actions sequences and stunts for the first time in her career and that wielding the sword and bow and arrows was a difficult task. Let us hope that Tamannaah's hardwork paysoff when the film releases this July.

Jagapathi babu: Puri felt sad for missing that point

Final shares of Jr NTR's early 2015 release have touched just 40 crores shared despite that fact that the film is touted as a blockbuster by critics. Senior hero Jagapathi Babu says that proper casting of stars would have raised the film's collection graphs.

"Had I done Posani Krishnamurali's role, the collections would have been different. If a former hero like Jagapathi Babu declines to salute a hero like NTR and then he salutes later, overall heroism would have got elevated. That would have raises collections by 7-8 crores", says Jagapathi Babu.  With no offence meant, he says Telugu industry is still not coming out of the mould to cast actors like him in proper roles. When he shared the same with Puri Jagan, who has earlier directed him Baachi, felt sad for missing that point out.

"I'm looking forward for kind of roles that are being done by Big B, Prakash Raj, late Srihari and Praan. If any director approaches with a different role, I'm ready to take it up as a challenge", says Jagapathi, asking Telugu Industry folks to vouch for a change.

Karan Johar: Rajamouli is the best filmmaker in the country

One of the country's most happening filmmakers, Karan Johar, said that Rajamouli is India's most talented and commercially successful filmmaker. Karan made these comments about Tollywood's pride SS Rajamouli, before going to participate in a one to one interaction with Jakkanna at an event in Mumbai just a while ago. Karan Johar believes that Rajamouli is the best filmmaker in the country at the moment.

Not stopping with this, Karan further drenched Jakkanna with limitless praises and said that he had watched all his films and that his belief is in Rajamouli's vision in making Baahubali a grand masterpiece. Karan further hoped that the Baahubali will be released to a thunderous opening at the box office.

To this, the ever modest and humble Rajamouli replied saying that his adrenaline was very high when he knew that Karan would be part of Baahubali. Jakkanna also said that there is a very positive attitude towards the film. True to Jakkanna's words, Karan Johar has managed to turn the entire nation's attention towards Baahubali, which will be hitting the screens on 10th July.

Salman Khan has once again showed his kind side

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's softer side towards humanitarian causes and charity work is nothing new. Now, the actor has once again showed his kind side which is an unprecedented action by a Bollywood star. Apparently, Salman Khan provided the people of the Kashmiri village Pahalgam with TV sets.

Couple of months ago, Salman was in several scenic villages of Kashmir, where he shot for his upcoming film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. During the shoot, Salman mingled with the locals quite enthusiastically and melted down when he came to know that several of the poor villagers didn't even have a TV set at home.

Moved by this, the Being Human star immediately ordered his team to purchase and install new TV sets in the homes of all villagers those without a TV at home. Salman's staff is currently busy providing the villagers with TVs and they have already equipped majority of the villagers' homes with brand new TV sets. Apart from this gesture, Salman was also in deep praises for the exotic scenic beauty of the Kashmir valley.

Nag is busy

Akkineni Nagarjuna has been busy shooting for his back to back projects under the debutant Kalyan Krishna and Vamshi Paidipally’s direction for the past few months. Already, his film with Kalyan, Soggade Chinni Nayana, finished a major portion of its talkie part and the next schedule will commence from 26th June in Hyderabad.

On the other hand, Nag’s multistarrer film with Karthi and Tamannaah in Vamshi’s direction will again go on floors after a brief gap from 10th July. In Soggade Chinni Nayana, Nag will be seen in dual roles and in Vamshi’s film, he is rumored to be playing a shockingly never seen before role. More details about this role will be revealed soon.

Ram Mohan of Uyyala Jampala fame is producing Soggade Chinni Nayana, while PVP Cinema is producing the yet to be titled Nag-Karthi multistarrer.

Dil Raju laughing his way to bank whatever he gets

Once termed as the man with the golden touch, Dil Raju gave a string of blockbusters even with medium budget films and a few high budget films featuring stars. The hotshot producer is back with a small budget campus flick, Kerintha. The film is full of emotions of friendship and love and it attracted the young moviegoers big time.

According to Dil Raju, the film has collected more than 4 crores in just its first week run. With the second week going on and no bigger threat from other films until this Friday, the film is poised to mint more money. According to the shrewd producer, he has already recovered his investment and he will now be laughing his way to the bank with whatever the film earns from now.

Apparently, Kerintha earned a whopping 1 crore in Vizag area alone and it is equally strong in most areas. The producer is surprised to see such a small film making a huge impact. In Dil Raju's words, "it is the first time in the last 10 years that a small film is getting good response in the second week." The film's youthful content and Dil Raju's aggressive promotions seemed to have done the trick for the film's success.

Huge Plus Point for Sundeeps's Tiger

Sundeep Kishan, Rahul Ravindran and Seerat Kapoor starrer 'Tiger' is all set to hit the screens on June 26, 2015. According to our sources, the total runtime of 'Tiger' is locked for 1.58hrs and makers of this film feel that this is going to be a huge advantage for the film.

Our team is confident that Telugu audience will love and bless our 'Tiger'". Sundeep Kishan pinned a lot of hopes on 'Tiger' and he feels that his performance in this film will take him to the next level.

SS Thaman has scored the tunes and Chota K Naidu handled the lens. 'Tagore' Madhu and NV Prasad are jointly producing 'Tiger' under NVR Cinema banner.

Rajamouli have been warned by her

Whenever Rajamouli immerses himself into making films, he thinks of nothing else but making them to the best of his abilities. He has been following the same principle since the beginning of his career and always challenges himself to make one big film after the other, as he thinks nothing less than making an epic each time. In the process, Rajamouli faces several testing times and his wife and stylist in his films, Rama Rajamouli, comes in as his support system.

Yesterday, Rajamouli and Rama met the media and revealed several unheard snippets of their professional and personal lives. Speaking about the making of Baahubali, Rama said that she had warned Rajamouli before he commenced the film and asked him why he dreams such a costly and risky dream of making a huge epic like Baahubali.

Rama Rajamouli said that she was apprehensive that the film's budget will overshoot during the making and that Rajamouli was undeterred and was so committed towards making this film, that he didn't show an ounce of nervousness and thoroughly enjoyed every day of making the film for the past three years. Talk about conviction, folks!

Heroine deficit for Prince Mahesh Babu

Star heroines always make sure that Superstar heroes are their preference. Be it any tinsel town, until a heroine gets super stardom, this is the formula they follow. Despite there is a bunch of young heroines popping up on Tollywood circles, can you believe that Superstar Mahesh is in troubles to pick a girl?

Mahesh has almost wrapped up 'Srimanthudu' and within a few days he will be moving to his next film 'Brahmotsavam'. Initially Rakul Preet Singh was signed as a heroine for this film but it seems like the deal isn't working out. Later we heard that Samantha is brought on board for which fans are unhappy, while makers have different reasons to explain. Reports have that even Samantha couldn't allot the dates asked by Srikanth Addala and the team is now looking forward for another heroine.

Samantha, Kajal, Tamanna, Shruti Haasan, Rakul Preet, Rashi Khanna and Regina are the options before Mahesh Babu, but everyone is having something or the other reason to be paired up with our Pokiri hero. Kajal is too pricey, Tamanna shined no luck with Aaagadu, Rakul's dates are not avaiabe, Rashi Khanna is still playing second leads and Regina didn't had that kind of break to become Mahesh's heroine. Only available option is to find some promising newcomer like Kriti Sanon.

Anyway, it's concluding time, should we not say that Mahesh has heroine deficit?

Nani 's Next in 14 reels

After lying low for a couple of years, Nani is back in the reckoning with the success of Yevade Subramanyam. The actor’s next in Hanu Raghavapuri of Andhala Rakshasi fame has been launhed and the film will be produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and Anil Sunkara under their 14 Reels banner.

Released in 2013, Andhala Rakshasi was appreciated for its sensitive portrayal of a triangular love story. The film’s director, Hanu, impressed with his deft handling of emotional drama and romance with equal panache. After Andhala Rakshasi, Hanu was supposed to team up with Rana Daggubati for Kavacham but the film did not materialize eventually.

This film with Nani is expected to be a game changer for both Nani and Hanu’s careers. More details about the film’s cast and crew will be out in the coming days.

After Mahesh, it's Nag to Achieve that feet

Akkineni Nagarjuna achieved a special milestone on social media. The handsome senior actor crossed the much celebrated 1 million followers mark on Twitter yesterday and he now joins Mahesh Babu, the only other Telugu star who achieved this rare milestone. This achievement by Nag showcases his ever growing popularity among his loyal fans across the globe.

Apart from Nag and Mahesh Babu, Telugu stars like Pawan Kalyan (4.6lakhs) and NTR (3.6 lakhs) command a decent fan following on the popular social networking platform. Interestingly, none of these stars tweet and keep in touch with their fans regularly. But this doesn’t deter their loyal fans who continue to shower their undying love towards them.

Review : Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini

Release date : June 19, 2015

Director : R. Chandru

Producer : Sridhar Lagadapati

Music Director : Hari

Starring : Sudheer Babu, Nanditha Raj

Dynamic producer Lagadapati Sridhar, is back with an interesting love story in Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini. Starring the hot pair Sudheer Babu and Nanditha in lead roles, this film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:-

Krishna(Sudheer Babu) and Radha( Nanditha) are childhood friends who are very close to each other. They go to the same college and spend some good moments together. This is also the time when Krishna falls in love with Radha and decides to propose to her.

Sadly for Krishna, destiny has other plans and forces him to part ways with Radha and leave his love story behind. Similar situations arise for Krishna when he once again meets Radha during his engineering days and also when he gets a good job.

What are the problems that Krishna is facing time and again ? Does he manage to reveal his love for Radha ? and Will the couple reunite at the end ? To know answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is probably Sudheer Babu’s career best performance. He is stupendous in the role of Krishna and carries the entire film on his shoulders. Sudheer is especially good during the climax and showcases wonderful emotions. Nanditha looks perfect in her role and gives able support to Sudheer. Both the actors are on par with each other and share a dazzling chemistry.

The way love has been showcased during different time zones is pretty good. Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is high on emotions and the makers have succeeded in carrying it throughout the film. The twist that comes during the climax has been executed well.

Pragathi is superb as the evil mother and gives the necessary edge to the film. First half of the film is quite vibrant and showcases the age old college day love. The second half gets emotional and gives the necessary depth to the film.

Minus Points:-

The biggest drawback of the film is the placement of two songs which disturb the flow of the film completely. Pace of the film is quite slow and takes its own time to complete. The college scenes in the second half have been dragged to unnecessary extent. Chaitanya Krishna’s character lacks focus.

There is a slight lag in the narration during the post interval as the makers have forced some unnecessary commercial aspects. Posani’s track with Saptagiri and certain other scenes spoil the mood of the film.

Technical Aspects:-

Camera work of the film is wonderful and showcases the rustic rural set up well. Production values are top notch and the way the film is showcased in different time zones is decent.

Music is good as all the songs have been composed well. Screenplay of the film is simple and gets slightly disturbed during the second half. Coming to the director Chandru, he has done a decent job with the remake. The only place where he falters is when he adds unnecessary commercial elements and forces to film to go off track.

Verdict:-

On the whole Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is a well made emotional love story. Sudheer Babu and Nandhita’s stunning performance are major assets. If you are ok with the pretty slow pace of the film and have an eye for love stories, Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini would end up as a decent watch for you.

Srimanthudu got Mint and whooping satellite rights

With each passing day, Superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Srimanthudu is literally getting richer thanks to some astonishing business deals that are being sealed. After the recent deal of the film's audio launch telecast rights being locked for a whopping 1 crore, here comes the biggest news.

As per the confirmed sources, the satellite rights of Srimanthudu have been bought by Zee Telugu for a staggering 10.20 crores. The deal has been inked yesterday and this will be the second costliest satellite deal ever in Tollywood's history, first being Baahubali. This once again proves Mahesh Babu's stamina which is unfaded even after two back to back disasters.

The primary reason for Srimanthudu registering such astronomical figures even before its theatrical release is that the film is an out and out family entertainer, which promises to be a clean and wholesome entertainment. On the theatrical distribution scene, Srimanthudu has already minted close to 55 crores from all areas, including close to 14.5 crores in Nizam alone. The film was made with a controlled budget and Mahesh himself got involved in the production.

Vishnu has guts to accept it

It takes dare and guts to agree certain things. Manchu Vishnu has it in full. Time and again, he's upright in sharing certain opinions and clearly the mentions what his thoughts are like.

The other day when Manchu Vishnu invited press to talk about the possible release date of his forthcoming flick 'Dynamite', he made some interesting comments. We have written umpteen times in these columns that modern day 'Platinum Disc' functions are fake and a form of false promotion.

Because these days it is tough to sell thousands of CDs and Cassettes (they are already extinct anyway) to celebrate a function for them. Vishnu emulated the same. 'It's tough even for 500 CDs to get sold. These platinum disc functions just happen for promotion, otherwise that is bullshit. It's just hogwash (nonsense)', said Vishnu, at the event.

Meanwhile, his 'Dynamite' directed by Deva Katta is currently under post-production with the film's sound recording being done at a Hollywood studio in Los Angeles. Vishnu avers, 'We will confirm the date either as July 17th or 24th, once we get first copy of the film, maybe within a week'.

Koratala: it's not the same story for Mahesh

All these days speculations are rife that Koratala Siva convinced Mahesh with the same story he has written for Ram Charan and rejected by Jr NTR. As this director's second film was started with Charan and got cancelled after a couple days of shoot, these rumours got wings. But Koratala Siva is quick to rubbish them.

"The story I've prepared for Mahesh Babu garu's Srimanthudu is different from the film I'm supposed to work wtih Charan garu. That film and this film are total contrast to each other. There is no iota of truth in rumours that I've narrated same story to Mahesh and got approved", said Koratala, clearing air over the rumours. What's more? How romantic Mahesh is going to romance Shruti Haasan in this flick? "Don't expect duets like songs in this movie. Srimanthudu is full of family emotions and songs are situational, which drive the story forward", he says.

Koratala Siva is all praises for Mahesh Babu's acting prowess. "I've just limited myself to a writer this time. Because Mahesh delivers the best himself with a director giving him so much inputs. I'm proud to work with a greatest actor of our times". Srimanthudu is set for August 7th release date.

Mahesh Babu's heartening gestures

Yesterday must be considered as one of the most memorable days in Mahesh Babu's career which demonstrated what a man he is when it comes to displaying professionalism sans ego and prejudice. The Superstar, upon a friendly request by the makers of Baahubali, readily agreed to postpone Srimanthudu, a welcoming gesture which touched and was appreciated even by the anti-fans. A real Srimanthudu indeed!

Ironically, until the announcement of the release date, a majority of Mahesh's fans were exerting pressure on Srimanthudu's producers not to postpone the film and to release it on 17th July itself. But Mahesh seemed to have gone ahead with what is better for the industry's prosperity. In the process, he not only won the hearts of his fans but also of many industry people.

There's more to Mahesh's magnanimity yesterday. When several reports confirmed that Samantha has been roped in to play the leading lady in Mahesh's Brahmotsavam, fans yet again were in for a disappointment and they even started trending the hash tag, #WeDontWantSamantha. This hatred goes back to 1 Nenokkadine days when Sam referred to a poster from the film and called it regressive.

And again, not keeping any sort of ill feeling in his heart, Mahesh was only welcoming to team up with Samantha. This yet again shows how he values his professional relationships. At this juncture, we can only hope that the upset and narrow-minded Superstar fans will be more appreciative of their star's heartening gestures and try to emulate him.

Odds against "Baahubali"

Dramatising every single scene with his mind blowing imaginative power is what Rajamouli specialised at. For that reason, even a simple story would look hair rising when narrated by this creative director. An interesting talk is happening in film nagar around this director's latest project now.

On July 10th Rajamouli's 'Baahubali' will be releasing across globe, while a week later on July 17th Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' is hitting cinemas. It's well known by now that Vijayendra Prasad has provided original story and screenplay for Salman's movie. Going by the trailer, we could read blockbuster on the way for Salman this Eid but here's where we have to talk about 'Baahubali'.

If Vijayendra Prasad's Bajrangi story creates hefty impact, then it will be his son's Baahubali that has to take pain at box office. With just a week of buffer for Baahubali to face Salman storm, it looks like Rajamouli has to fight with his own father's work to stay in race at pan-Indian ticket counters where Hindi version of this epic war film is being screened. With crores involved into the production of Baahubali, success at Tollywood box office isn't enough for makers to breathe a relief. Even Hindi and Tamil versions should score a brownie.

Coming to Kollywood, we're hearing that Danush's Maari and Simbu's Vaalu are coming on July 17th, packing Baahubali from both sides. In Telugu, Rajamouli could mint millions for many weeks but Tamil and Hindi circuits left him with short time.

Wednesday 17 June 2015

Reason why Baahubali couldn't get postponed

July 10th and 17th are the two big dates that led to cinema folks now fighting on social circuits. Former date marks the release of "Baahubali" while the latter one has "Srimanthudu" coming up.

With just 1 week between the two biggies, surely one will eat up the collection of others at the box office. As "Baahubali" is a 250 crore magnum opus, some trade pundits opine that it's better "Srimanthudu" shifts its date. But Mahesh fixed on July 17th months back, so why would he back step? Trade pundits have other reasons to talk about.

Baahubali is fixed for July 10th not just in Tollywood, but in other regions too. Including Telugu version, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and other foreign language versions will also see the movie's release on same day. Coming to "Srimanthudu", the film will be released only in Telugu version any where on the globe. So, it doesn't matter when it arrives, but when it comes Mahesh Babu will storm box office with his tremendous crowd pulling potential.

However, if Baahubali has to moved to another date then the whole of August and September are not available for Hindi and Tamil versions. Many films from Hollywood like Mission Impossible and Phantom are also making to theatres in same time. In Bollywood we have biggies like Bajrangi Bhaijan and Welcome Back coming up while Tamil audiences have Maari and Thala56 gearing up for release in next two months. All these indicate that Baahubali will fail to get a date in other languages if it shifts from July 10th.

On other hand, "Srimanthudu" could adjust its date to another new date only by considering the huge budgets involved in Baahubali making. For now Srimanthudu is fixed for July 17th only. We have to see if there will be any last minute changes.

AB : Bringing my daughter into it is NOT cool

Film stars and online trolls go hand in hand and there seems to be no stopping to this cyber menace. Cyber bullies seem to be not leaving even the biggest of the celebs and Abhishek Bachchan is the latest star to fall prey to it. However, the Bachchan Junior decides to teach his troll a lesson which he will not forget for a lifetime.

Yesterday, an audacious troll crossed all the limits of respecting a star's personal space and created a derogatory meme in which he said, 'Waiting for Aaradhya to watch her dad movies like Drona, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and ask Aishwarya 'Kya majboori thi'?' The idiotic troll even tagged his meme to Abhishek Bachchan and tweeted to him.

Furious over seeing his daughter dragged into the dirt unnecessarily, Abhishek took out the breath of his troll as he replied, 'you feelin better about yourself now??? Good! Glad to have been of service. Now go back to the hole you crawled out of.' To this, the startled man tried to defend himself helplessly until Abhishek further taught the real lesson. The AB said, 'don't like my movies? That's cool. Will work harder to make movies you like. Bringing my daughter into it is NOT cool.'

Fans and twitteratti joined in Abhishek's support and attacked the troll to teach him how to behave on the cyber space. Learning his lesson quickly, the man replied, 'if you want I will delete that post. I am sorry.' If only the troll knew how to walk on the thin line of trolling and abusing!
