Rajamouli, Please Don't use your Popularity for Your Friends and Associates

'Obligation', this one word has ruined the reputation of many bigwigs in film industry. Often, celebs reluctantly do certain things out of obligation and end up on the losing side. Ace director Rajamouli's fans are worried that the 'Baahubali' creator is now treading this dangerous path.

Rajamouli's association with Sai Korrapati of Vaarahi banner is nothing new to Telugu film industry folks and movie buffs. In fact, Vaarahi's fist production venture, 'Eega' was a Rajamouli directorial. Ever since, the top director, who is now a national celebrity, has been promoting the production ventures of Korrapati, out of courtesy or friendship or may be obligation.

Having a cumulative follower count of close to 8.5 million (on FB and Twitter) and arguably being the biggest director of India who has never made a flop in his career, people believe in Rajamouli's judgement. If he praises a film by attending promotional events or even through his tweets, at least some of his followers go to theatres to watch it irrespective of how unpopular the cast and crew is.

Recently, Rajamouli praised Jagapathi Babu's new release, 'Patel Sir', a Sai Korrapati production venture, on twitter. Understandably, many of his followers watched the film and later they took to social media to request him not to use his stardom and credibility for promoting bad films just out of compulsion. Rajamouli may consider it as just a tweet to say something good about a film but it is a sort of review, a confidence for his followers to watch the film.

In the end, fans request Rajamouli to use his popularity to promote good cinema but not whatever the film made by his friends and associates.

Kona: Nani Drank a Full Bottle Of Liquor! ?

Last evening, a grand success meet of Natural Star Nani's latest release 'Ninnu Kori' was held in Vijayawada. Speaking at the function, film's screenplay writer and co-producer Kona Venkat has made an interesting revelation about how Nani drank a full bottle of liquor to bring authenticity to a particular scene.

'Ninnu Kori' has plenty of emotional scenes but if asked to pick one, many would pick the scene where Nani gets drunk and talks about girls' choices in front of Aadi and Nivetha Thomas. Nani's realistic performance in this scene has been praised unilaterally.

Talking about this particular scene, 'To bring naturality to that scene, Nani drank a full bottle. We were a bit worried but he made the scene look so realistic that it became a highlight of the film. Then I understood why he is accredited with 'Natural Star' title,' said Kona.

Kona Venkat's revelation made out of sheer excitement and also to praise Nani's commitment and acting prowess, has now become a hot topic with movie buffs discussing the actor's drinking habits. 'How can someone drink a full bottle without being a pro in drinking?' is the doubt raised by many on social media.

Anna Vastunnadu :: A Deal Between Y.S. Jagan & Nagarjuna Akkineni

When wild speculations about Nagarjuna Akkineni joining YSR Congress Party started doing rounds recently, Amala and a few other people close to Akkineni family had to condemn the rumors to put a full stop to them. A fresh rumor linking Nag and YS Jagan has surfaced now.

Gossip is that Nagarjuna is planning a film with political background, and that he is contemplating to name it, 'Anna Vastunnadu'. For the unknown, 'Anna Vastunnadu' is a reference used by YSR Congress Party workers for their President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This title was announced during the recent party plenary.

Reports are wildly circulating in YSRC Party circles that Nagarjuna has requested Jagan to let him use the 'Anna Vastunnadu' title for his next film and that Jagan has readily given his consent. As per the speculations, Jagan has asked Nagarjuna to campaign for his party in 2019 Assembly election.

Fidaa movie was Rejected By Top Three Heroes?

During the promotions of his upcoming production venture 'Fidaa', Dil Raju has revealed that the love story was earlier turned down by three heroes.

Dil Raju revealed that they had earlier narrated the story of Fidaa to three heroes. 'They all liked it but refrained from signing the film as they felt they may not be the right ones to essay the lead role. Later, I decided to go with an upcoming hero and that's how Varun Tej came on board,' Raju added.

Although Dil Raju didn't reveal who those three heroes are, Sekhar Kammula has on more than one occasion divulged that Mahesh Babu was the first one to listen and appreciate the story of Fidaa. 

Talking about Fidaa, Raju added that it's a simple story with a lot of emotional moments that family audiences and youth will surely like. 'Sekhar Kammula doesn't write great stories, he assembles great moments,' Raju said about the sensible director in one sentence.

He also praised Sai Pallavi for the commitment she had shown in learning Telangana slang for Fidaa. 

Ace Producer Dil Raju's Double Hat-trick?

Hailed as the most successful producer-distributor of his era, Dil Raju is now aiming to score a double hat-trick this year.

Raju's first hit of 2017 was 'Shatamanam Bhavathi', a critical and commercial success. The family entertainer even earned a National Award for Raju.

His next was Nani's 'Nenu Local', the actor's biggest commercial hit till date. The film is also the highest grosser among mid-range heroes' films.

Raju's third release of this year is Allu Arjun's DJ. There have been umpteen doubts on this film's box office collections but Raju claims it to be a bigger grosser than Bunny's career best film, Sarrainodu.

The fourth release of this year from Raju's production house is Varun Tej-Sai Pallavi starrer 'Fidaa'. The film is slated for release on July 21. It has generated decent buzz, especially after the release of the second trailer.

Ravi Teja starrer 'Raja The Great' and Nani's 'MCA' are the remaining two releases of Dil Raju in this year. The ace producer confirmed that the former will hit screens on October 12, ahead of Diwali festival to encash the holidays, and the ever-dependable Nani's film will be released in December this year.

Raju hopes that Fidaa, 'Raja The Great' and MCA will live up to his and audiences expectations and complete double hat-trick for him this year.

He has also confirmed his next two projects - Mahesh Babu-Vamsi Paidipally's untitled movie, which will go to sets in January 2018 and Sathamanam Bhavathi director's 'Srinivasa Kalyanam'.

Shocking Remuneration For Nayantara For Chiranjeevi's 151st Film?

If inside sources are to believed, actress Nayantara would be charging a bomb for Chiranjeevi's 151st film Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Nayantara is reportedly charging a whopping Rs 4 Crore as her remuneration for Uyyalawada, making her the most-expensive actress in South. 

Nayan who usually charge 2 to 2.5 Crore per film, said to have agreed for 4 Crore for Uyyalawada which will be simultaneously shot in both Telugu and Tamil. This is not all. Producers have plans to dub the film into Malayalam, Hindi. Considering this, makers said to have agreed to pay 4 Crore to Nayan and the actress would also take part of the film's promotion.

However, the film's protagonist Chiranjeevi is not charging any remuneration formally. Since Chiru's own son and actor Ram Charan is producing the film on home production Konidela Production Company, Mega Star wouldn't be paid.

The film would be formally launched on August 15 and the film's shoot is expected to commence from September. An official announcement is expected shortly. It is common knowledge by now that the high-budgeted film is going to be directed by Surender Reddy whose last film was Ram Charan's Dhruva.

Spyder Teaser Release Date = Sitara's BirthDay?

Superstar Mahesh Babu has this endearing habit of releasing teasers and trailers of his films on the eve of his father Krishna's birthday. For this very reason, Krishna's birthday has become a double celebratory moment for Ghattamaneni fans. In fact, the 'Glimpse of Spyder Teaser' was also planned to be released on May 31, the eve of Krishna's birthday, but it was eventually released a day later, on June 1st, owing to some reasons.

Mahesh has now reportedly planned to make his cute daughter Sithara's upcoming birthday a special one. Buzz is that the highly awaited teaser of SPYder will be unveiled on July 20, the eve of Sithara's birthday.

Telugu States Theaters are Housefull, Chennai Theters are Doubtful?

From last couple of weeks, whole of Tamilnadu film fraternity is requesting the governments to take back their new initiatives that lead to increasing of ticket prices. However multiplexes have gone ahead after a week and continued ticket-hike as GST commands them to do so. Though there no big protests of Telugu theatres owners in this case, here also almost all the theatres hiked prices.

What's so stunning is that, ever since ticket rates are hiked, there is a steep downfall in the footfalls in multiplex theatres in Chennai. We hear that only 30 percent seat occupancy occurred in many multiplexes and that indicates people are also protesting the idea of increased ticket rates. But the trend is alarmingly different in Telugu states.

No matter what, what's the price of ticket or how much it is hiked, there is no such downfall of movie-goers in multiplex theatres of cities like Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vizag, says a trade observer. Seems like people in telugu states are giving utmost to entertainment rather worrying about the over-the-board payment they have to make.

In a word we could say that AP theatres are getting houseful if the film gets fantastic talk but Chennai theatres are doubtful that people would come in flocks even for a super hit. Are Telugu people not taking ticket-hike seriously? Or Tamil people taking it too seriously?

Shamantakamani: It's fun, engaging and most importantly refreshing

When director Sriram Adittya announced Shamantakamani, there was quite a great deal of anticipation owing to the interesting cast he brought together.

Well, after the film's release last Friday, it seems the chemistry between Sundeep Kishan, Nara Rohit, Sudheer Babu and Aadi, has left everyone quite amazed, and the anticipations have surely been met! But what makes this film likable is that it doesn't leave the rest of the characters astray and even Rajendra Prasad and Indraja leave you with a great impression.

In fact, this film is a lot about the characters as it is about the story. Every character is so well etched that it leaves you wanting to know more about them. But what's the icing on the cake is that every actor owns their role to such perfection that it is quite difficult to imagine anyone else in the roles.

We often see stories of underdogs in a thriller milieu. But this film stands apart because the director has dealt with it very cleverly by adding in the perfect dose of comedy and thrill to it.

In fact, director Sriram really needs to be applauded for choosing to work on a complicated story, and making it simple and easy to understand for a cine goer.

The best thing about this film is that it gives you an escape from routine cinema and makes you excited. It's fun, engaging and most importantly refreshing. It's definitely worth the watch.

Pawan Kalyan: 40 Days 40 Crores!

After completing Trivikram's film, Pawan Kalyan will reportedly do a film for Mythri Movie Makers, who are currently bankrolling Ram Charan's "Rangasthalam 1985". As per latest reports, Pawan has recently met the producers and placed a few conditions.

Since Pawan is planning to shift his complete attention to his political campaign as soon as he can, he has reportedly asked producers to commence the film's shooting by November at any cost, wrap it up in three months and release it for Summer 2018. The producers have reportedly assured him to plan accordingly.

Director Santosh Srinivas is currently busy with the pre-production work. Rakul Preet Singh is likely to play the leading lady. Buzz is that Pawan has been paid a record Rs 40 crore remuneration, and he has to allot just 40 days of call sheets. The film is said to be an action entertainer with an underlying social message.

Buzz is that Pawan will not sign anymore films after this project, at least until the completion of next Assembly elections. 

Nani Once Again?, In 'Krishnarjuna Yuddham'

Buoyed by the success of 'Ninnu Kori', Natural Star Nani has announced two new projects, #Nani20 and #Nani21.

#Nani21 is titled 'Krishnarjuna Yuddham'. The actor will once again be seen playing dual roles in this film after last year's hit film 'Gentleman'. Merlapaka Gandhi of 'Venkatadri Express' and 'Express Raja' fame will direct it. 'Dhruva' fame Hip Hop Tamizha will score music.

The team looks very promising. The interesting title and the fact that Nani is essaying dual roles, make this project even more exciting to look forward to. Film will release next year.

#Nani20 is titled MCA (Middle Class Abbayi), a Dil Raju production venture. 'Oh My Friend' fame Sriram Venu is directing this film which is currently on floors. This is the second collaboration of Nani and Dil Raju after 'Nenu Local'. Sai Pallavi is the leading lady, and Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer.

Case Filed On Drunk Sr Actress

A popular yesteryear heroine turned Host of TV shows has recently created nuisance in a TV Show under the influence of alcohol. The show hosted by this actress intends to discuss and resolve the family disputes of participants, and it is aired on a prominent channel.

She reportedly attended the show in a fully drunken state, and thus shocked both the organizers of the show and the participants with her behavior. In fact, a woman approached the State Human Rights Commission (HRC) alleging that she was insulted by the senior actress' demeaning questions in the show. Audience Walk Out of AR Rahman's Concert and demanding a refund!

A section of audiences have reportedly walked out of Oscar-award winning musician AR Rahman's concert in UK's Wembley recently. Considering that Rahman is a flawless composer and have entertained people of all walks of life across the globe, the incident has come as a shocker to many ARR's fans. Going into details, Rahman's concert was held on July 8 at SSE Arena, Wembley in London . Rahman had sung "most of Tamil songs" and that said to had not gone well with the Hindi-speaking audiences.

The Hindi-speaking crowd then walked out of the concert midway accusing that "most of the songs in the concert were in Tamil". This is not all. The disappointed Hindi-speaking audiences are now reportedly 'demanding' a refund because they were made to sit through 'Tamil songs' that they could not 'understand'. Many took to Twitter to express their angst, displeasure over Rahman's concert.

While a section claims that the concert was titled as 'Netru, Indru, Naalai', the Hindi-speakers allege (through Twitter) that they were 'cheated' by the 'false advertising' and only 1 percent of the songs Rahman sung in the concert were Hindi.

More than Prabhas, director Sujeeth and UV Creations, Bollywood hero Neil Nitin Mukesh is quite excited about 'Saaho'. This Bollywood actor has been singing praises of Prabhas, Sujeeth and the technicians of Saaho, ever since he had signed this project. Afresh, Neil has once again talked bout Saaho. 

"I was wowed by the vision of Sujeeth when he first met me to narrate the story. I knew that I was going to do this film even before he completed the narration. Sujeeth has full clarity on how he wants to make Saaho, and I am sure that this action film will be beyond the expectations of anyone,' said an excited Neil, who is playing the antagonist in the film.

He further said that the kind of international technicians on board for this film speaks volumes about the sort of high-octane action in it. 'I have done many action films but Saaho will be a special film not just for me, but for the entire crew and also the Indian audiences,' he added.

Neil is raising expectations on Saaho with his statements. Prabhas' fans hope that the film will be a sure shot blockbuster if Sujeeth can conceive even half of what Neil has been boasting of.

Dil Raju Didn't Understand Climax, But Happy With Output?

General talk in the Telugu film industry is that Dil Raju doesn't compromise about his production ventures, and involves in every department of film making, especially story and direction. He just doesn't leave it to director after finalizing the script. He regularly monitors the progress, suggests changes and even resorts to reshoots if he doesn't like the output, notwithstanding how big a star the director is.

To the surprise of everyone, Dil Raju himself is now claiming that 'Fidaa' is his least involved film. Calling it a "100pc Sekhar Kammula film", the successful producer said that he wasn't present during most of the shooting of 'Fidaa'.

Narrating one instance, Raju said that he didn't understand the climax of 'Fidaa' when he read the scene paper. He however didn't confront Kammula feeling that the sensible director may take offence. He let the 'Happy Days' director make the film exactly how he had envisioned it. This is probably the first time Raju gave full freedom to a director. 

On a concluding note, Raju said that he was more than happy when he watched the final output conceived by Kammula.

Chiranjeevi's Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy Launch Date

After Megastar Chiranjeevi rewrote Box Office history with his comeback film, 'Khaidi No.150', fans are eagerly waiting for the launch of the actor's 151st film. If the ongoing buzz is anything to go by, makers are planning to launch this film on the coming Independence Day.

It is known that #Chiru151 is the biopic of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Earlier, plan was to launch this prestigious project on the eve of Megastar's birthday, on August 22.

However, having come to a conclusion that the best day for the launch of a biopic on freedom fighter is, the Independence Day, makers have reportedly decided to prepone their plan by a week and launch #Chiru151 on a grand scale on the eve of this year's Independence Day, August 15.

Meanwhile,the pre-production work and casting process is progressing at rapid pace. Nayanathara is reportedly on board to play the female lead. Ram Charan is producing this mega project on a budget of around Rs 120 crore.

A throwback picture featuring Katirna Kaif is going viral on social media, not because it featured her but because she was seen posing alongside late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who was notoriously famous for running a brutal regime during his lifetime. He died in 2011.

TFCC Chairman: Stop Big Boss ( Telugu )

Even as Big Boss Telugu - hosted by Jr NTR - is all set to be aired in just three days, an unexpected voice from the very own Telugu film industry has raised against the show. This naturally shocked both Tarak fans as well as the people from the industry. Proclaiming as fan of both legendary NTR and Jr NTR, TFCC (Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce) chairman Ramakrishna had urged NTR to quit from the show citing it as 'against Telugu tradition' and 'values'. Saying that NTR is now one of the top heroes, the TFCC chairman said that it was 'unacceptable', 'poor in taste' to see him peep through a hole at woman's legs.

Predicting that the show may not be 'successful' in Telugu, Ramakrishna asked Jr NTR not to be part of such show. Saying that Jr NTR has good craze today, he asked him to introspect his decision once again. What's shocking is that Ramakrishna stated that many actors in the industry have 'not shown interest' to participate in the show that would be shoot in Pune.

Hero allegedly hired a man for Rs 1.5 crore, to get Heroine's n**e video?

The arrest of Malayalam star hero Dileep in a prominent Malayalam actress' 'Kidnap and Molestation' case has sent shockwaves across the industry. Police are investigating allegations made on him that he offered a man Rs 1.5 crore in 2013 to assault the actress and wanted the her nude video to be filmed.

Dileep allegedly bore grudge against the actress, as she revealed about his affair to his first wife, which led to his marriage falling apart. Seeking the downfall of the actress for breaking his marriage, the star hero allegedly hired a man by paying him Rs 1.5 crore, and asked him to assault her and record her nude video.

In February this year, the actress was kidnapped and molested in a moving car for almost one hour. The gang took videos and photos of her in compromising positions, and threatened her of dire consequences if she reports the issue to police.

After the actor was arrested on Monday, his lawyer filed for bail, which was denied. The court said that it would hear the bail plea only after two days, allowing the police to interrogate him in the meantime. Six people were arrested earlier this year related to this case.

It looks like Mega Prince Varun Tej fired a storm at Stylish Star Allu Arjun during the pre-release event of Fidaa on Monday evening.

Ever since the 'Cheppanu Brother' episode of Bunny hit headlines, Pawan Kalyan fans were quite furious over the actor and he had to deliver an explanation later. In fact, that controversy had put other Mega Stars in a highly compulsion zone. As a result, other actors in family Sai Dharam Tej and Varun are not missing out any opportunity to speak about Powerstar and Megastar.

At the pre-release event of his upcoming film Fidaa, Varun said, 'If we (Mega actors) are standing on this stage today, it is all because of Pedhanana (Chiranjeevi) and Babai (Pawan Kalyan). Fidaa, directed by Shekar Kammula and produced by Dil Raju, has Premam fame Sai Pallavi as female lead. Touted as youth-ful romantic entertainer, the film is scheduled for release on 21st July.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has reportedly agreed to compensate to the distributors who had lost exorbitant sums on his latest release 'Tubelight'.

Rs 100 crore collections at box office may be a benchmark for ninety percent of films made in Bollywood but for a Salman Khan starrer, the benchmark goes up to Rs 270-300 crore. Buyers of Salman's 'Tubelight' were in utter shock after the film almost ended its theatrical run by raking in a mere Rs 115 crore approx. Applying the statistics, that's a huge loss. 

Empathized with the agony of his film's buyers, Salman has reportedly offered Rs 55 crore compensation to them. Distributors are extremely happy with the actor's kind gesture. This is the first flop for Salman in years.

Breaking all the existing formulaic notions, this talented director derived a new-age slow narrative technique and impressed audiences. But it's long back we've seen such a wonderful emotional film.

After scoring many flops, finally, Sekhar Kammula is back to his favourite genre and subject and is coming up with "Fidaa" now. If we have to talk about this film, then we need to believe what producer Dil Raju says. "If Anand is a coffee-like film, Fidaa will be a Kushi (Pawan Kalyan Kushi) like film. For every star hero, a love story done during the start of their career will work big time. Whether it is Suswagatham or Tholiprema in Pawan's case or Arya in Allu Arjun's case, love stories work. That's the reason we've selected Varun Tej for Fidaa and it worked superbly", he said. 

It's heard that the hero will cry will many scenes during the climax of the film and that will work at box office. Sekhar Kammula is exuding confidence that he has a blockbuster content in hand. He went on saying that he wrote exam already and knows the result as well, and just waiting for the audience to find it out. 

These are the days where films that have family-audience appealing content are working at the box office. So in a way, Fidaa might attract film lovers to a large extent, but there is a problem too. Audiences are not liking 'lag' in the content these days and Sekhar is popular for such dragging. Hope he took care of everything to make Fidaa a Kushi for Varun Tej!!

Balayya shocked Kyra with his real-stunts

A lot has been said and reported about the latest film of Nandamuri Balakrishna in the direction of Puri Jagannadh - Paisa Vasool. As the film marks first collaboration of ace director and actor, the action sequences are certainly going to be a huge feast for fans.

After a long schedule in Portugal, the film unit shifted its base to Hyderabad. The action entertainer, which has Shriya Saran as leading lady, is currently underway in the outskirts of Hyderabad wherein the actor is shooting for an action block with other actress Kyra Dutt alongside him. 

As soon as the 57-year old Balakrishna is done with his part of fighting the goons effortlessly, Kyra Dutt stood rooted to the spot and quickly after that, she took to Twitter and showered praise on the senior hero.

Her tweet describes how Balayya shocked Kyra with his real-stunts. 'Shooting a fight sequence today. Unreal Stunts! Balakrishna Garu is the original action hero. Who does his own stunts #NBK101 #PaisaVasool' - tweeted Kyra Dutt, who's second lead in the film.

NTR's Stammering is not new, Puri Stop Worrying!

Apparently, an English daily's revelation that Puri Jagan is upset with the way Jr NTR has stolen a character idea from the director is creating an unwanted ruckus among fans. It is said that Puri first narrated a villain character, who has the stammering issue, to Jr NTR sometime back and our star hero got the same one incorporated into this "Jai Lava Kusa" movie.

Forget about whether Puri narrated something to NTR or not, but in the first case, a villain role having a stammering issue is not a new thing to be seen on silver screen. In the most recent times, if you could remember "Julayi" movie, Sonu Sood who played the lead villain has this stammering issue for his role. And he executed Trivikram's idea it quite brilliantly.

Generally, any villain role created by Indian film directors will either have Ravana or Duryodhana shades. And these roles will be stuffed with some 'dialect' (say Telangana accent or Muslim accent or Hyderabadi style) and then some 'defect' (say breathing problem, handicapped or some medical defect) added to it. Going by that aspect, we have to say that this 'stammering' thing is the not so-new and so-unique thing that Puri Jagan and team should worry about. Only the fact that a star hero like Jr NTR has taken up is the unique part here.

Moreover, a simple characterisation like stammering won't help in making a story turn into a blockbuster at the box office, it's the story of the film that matters. So, Puri and some NTR fans, need not worry on this!!

Star Hero Arrested in Heroine's Kidnap and assault Case

Leading Malayalam actor and producer Dileep was arrested on Monday evening in connection with the kidnap, sexual assault of an actress (from the same industry) earlier in February in a moving car near Kochi.  The most-controversial case has been taking several turns in the past few days. First a supari gang led by Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni was arrested in the case. And the case had been subsequently closed.

But it was reopened in April after actor Dileep approached police handing over a letter written to him by Sunil Kumar demanding money. Alleging that Sunil is 'blackmailing' him, Dileep approached police after which the case has been reopened in conspiracy angle. After thorough probe, police took Dileep into custody on Monday morning. He was lodged at Aluva Police Club. He was arrested in the evening.

This come as a huge setback to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes Association (AMMA) who had been supporting Dileep in the matter. Dileep too maintained that he was no way linked to the case and claimed innocence. However, cops found that culprit Sunil Kumar tried to contact Dileep's close friend Nadarsha from the jail over the phone at least on three occasions.

After several twists and turns, cops have arrested Dileep on Monday evening. Dileep has had rift with the leading actress. The conspiracy to attack the actress, according to police, was hatched several years back and it was in the second attempt that the actress was attacked in the late night of February 19 in a moving car near Kochi. More details are yet to come.
