Why did they invested huge amount on "I" for telugu rights

As Shankar is excited to bring his latest creation "I" to audiences on January 14th, even audiences are waiting eagerly to see marvels he has designed with versatile actor Vikram and beautiful Amy Jackson spreading their charms already through teasers. However the fact remains true that this film should amass nearly 40 crores in Telugu circuit alone to bail out the buyers safely from their investment.

Telugu version producer NV Prasad has acquired the theatrical rights of "I" for nearly 35 crores, say trade insiders. In that case, he would have sold out the flick to local buyers for a profit of nearly 5 crores, though in some areas he is releasing it on his own. On a whole, 40 crores business happened regarding Shankar's "I", which sounds quite huge and alarming. Earlier a super hit film like "Robo" which also had the Rajnikanth backdrop, managed to amass only 30 crores nearly. Now imagine the range of hit this "I" should score in order to bring profits to buyers. Leave profits alone, let investments recover first.
